Man... I am still on the fence with Roberson.  This guy has terrible fight IQ.  Watching back some of these fights, he does exactly what he isn't supposed to.

I know the duck is trolling and it’s funny how much bait he’s getting, but I lowkey agree with him in the Rountree and Roberson fight. I’m fairly confident Roberson takes, unless Bangkok ready Rountree has turned into NCAA singlet ready Rountree.

You say Fletcher is the better wrestler but Semelsberger wrestled in high school/college (can't recall which). He just fell in love with his hands. Fletcher did other sports, football soccer and basketball I think and didn't switch til combat sports until his football plans fell through.

With those tidbits of facts at least as presented from commentators in UFC/contender series fights from the two and with almost no footage from Fletcher and him having faced very low level competition only if I were to take a stab in the dark I would have to give Semelsberger the wrestling edge.

Gilese has a good point. Semeslberger has showed some wrestling too; I bet it’s decent enough to get the fight where he wants

Rountree lost to ******* Marcin Prachnio, arguably the worst fighter on the roster at the time they fought. He is very low volume, he has never wrestled (idk who even started the conversation about his wrestling, it doesn't exist). Roberson usually struggles with grapplers, Rountree cannot grapple. This guy got so much hype off a decision win over Eryk Anders, it's crazy to me.

I honestly can see this fight going the distance and Bruno winning by split decision. The reach advantage for Pereira will definitely make it hard for him though but I wouldn’t just 100% count out Bruno to win this fight

Let's hope it does, I have .5u at over 1.5 (+140) and .5u on fight goes the distance (+400) in that one.

I don't like statements like this. If Semel's wrestling had any substance he would've used it by now. Maybe he hasn't needed to in his short UFC tenure, but his TDD didn't look that good pre-UFC when he got taken down. I'll take the fighter that is already using wrestling in their MMA fights, Fletcher. Especially when Fletcher is around 2/1 dog right now. Agree pretty much with what Baldric was saying earlier on the fight. It also comes down to value/price, and Semel is way overvalued right now imo.

Fair enough I haven't watched Semelsberger outside the UFC so I don't know if he completely abandoned wrestling. I just know (from what casters said) he has a background in it whereas Fletcher hasn't. Sanko was making a comparison to GSP on contender series in that Fletcher was a good wrestler even with no background in it. The fell in love with his hands line is from Semelsberger himself. After he lost to Williams he talked about how he had gotten away from mixing up his game due to his love of striking and that he would use more aspects of MMA moving forward.
Then he got another record time knockout so no idea what the gameplan would've been there.

As for odds yeah I'm not touching this fight. Fletcher might be a better value but he has fought bums only his whole career so you'd be going purely off the eye test. This sort of fight lends itself much more to livebetting.

Yeah, I did love Semel in his last fight, his high odds were definitely justified there. His opponent didn't deserve to be in the UFC at all, pretty sure that was a favor to Diaz to put him in?

Tbh I could see him just flatlining fletcher with the first punch he throws since he has a tendency to destroy can crushers.

Rountree/Roberson Semi/Fletcher

Predictions: 8 of 14 Winners, 3 Perfect, 490 Points   |   Tied for 2407th

Rountree getting in his own way is absolutely true. That one fight where he faced Jonny Walker....I think it was on that Blaydes/Ngannou card in China...I may be wrong...but he was extremely scared. I think he's one of those guys who maybe has mental health or confidence issues. He did look pretty dece against Boukaskas but I dont know how much to take from that. A side kick to the knee is a pretty volatile way to win.

Semelsberger should roll against Fletcher as long as he mixes it up. I would say I've seen Semi look pretty tired if the fight gets extended and he has to wrestle a little too much but what kind of gas tank is a Contender series guy with almost all 1st round KO's going to have?

I agree that @NgannouPunch, Rountree is a strange bird. He got spooked majorly by Ion Cutelaba and just seemed to give up. I thought that move to the leg was extremely dirty, but Roberson is no G. He gets shook too, like in the Vettori match-up.

I'd take Rountree in this but that's just me.

Yeah I agree frontkick. I dont know if its being spooked with Roberson or he just..I hate this term...but bad fight IQ sometimes. Going for an ankle lock or whatever it was versus Brendan Allen was a bad look.

He did get rolled against Vettori...you could tell Marvin was super pissed Roberson pulled out and wanted to dominate.

I don't mind it from a betting angle to take a small plus money shot on Fletcher.  I still think you will end up lighting money on fire but anything can happen.  If you had, you should have early on.  Line is starting to really move closer.

I’ve noticed too that rountree is very very heavy on the lead leg. Last time Roberson fought a southpaw (kopylov) he absolutely chewed up the lead leg of him. Ngl he looks pretty sharp whenever his opponent doesn’t grapple with him and I don’t even think I’ve seen rountree even attempt a takedown

I'm also going with Robeson as well.  I don't know that much about him but analyzing his record, he seems to only have issues with good grapplers/sub artists which Rountree has not shown he can do so far.  I do know that Rountree is a great striker but Robeson has also not been knocked out in his career so far so I'm guessing he has somewhat of a good chin.

I wouldn't even be surprised if Robeson pulls off a sub victory in this one.
