And Gegard Mousasi would be no more difficult for Negruto to beat than Robert Whittaker.

Rewatched without commentary. Both my picks and judging skills were on full display. I had a shutout going into 5. Whittaker, whom I like far better, clearly won the final round and 4 was close. In 2 he landed a nice shot or two but nothing significant to the leg kicks. The takedown had no control time or anything significant damage wise. The most telling damage was the leg kicks throughout. Izzy rolled off the shots too well. Nothing really landed clean and hurt Izzy.

I’m not sure most posters here are qualified for the scoring app. Hate away. Even if you convince yourself Rob edged out 2&4, no way we’re they blowouts/robbery rounds. It really makes me wonder what crappy streams and screens some tapologist are viewing on honestly.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and conversation. You have every right to your uninformed opinions and are welcome to vent and kick rocks all you’d like. I stand by my unpopular opinions. Part of being the most level headed, most humble poster, along with clearly being best judge on this board, is it comes with some criticism and scrutiny at times. Thanks again for your takes, no matter how silly. 4-1 maybe 3-2 for arguments sake. IA was never once in trouble.  All that said,I hope Cannonier Merks him, but I kinda doubt it. Fun night of fights and discussion this morning.

<3 to you all

I agree with you totally....I'am true fan of Bobby since the Colton Smith fight but i agree with 3-2...
Anyway i will like to see someone like Canon or maybe even Tarzan sparks the champ out. Becouse all kings become boring after time. I'm well avare about this fenomenon after 25 years of watching all caind of GOAT's  But even if i dislike like Izzy, i can't see how he could possiblly lost in another 2 years. Even weight cut doesnt make him problems....

The fight the  fans should ***** about the judging is Roxanne vs Moderferi, it was a clear 30-27 decsion  for O’Neil and the fight was somehow a a 2-1, 1-2, 2-1 split, O’Neil landed 200+ strikes, she clearly won

Adesanya vs Rob was close, no one really one but they have to give it to someone, the judge gave it to Izzy, they just wasn’t much difference between them

What worry me is the ****wits  judges who scored the fight, even though they still gave the right person the win, score fight like Izzy vs Rob which was close, and could be the difference between Izzy or Rob walking out as champ

I don't even want that fight between Izzy and Cannonier because Izzy is gonna win that fight convincingly too. Give him Chimaev. He has the best chance of beating Izzy. Or if Alex Pereira goes on a winning streak and beats a top 5 contender then give him the title shot. Fight fire with fire.

I'm not sure what Negruto is but it does not sound like an appropriate label in this forum for Adesanya.

Absolutely @DH420. I often agree with your take on robberies  and close fights. Not necessarily that we agree or disagree on said fights, but  on what consists of a robbery and simply close rounds that are subjective and tough to score. We’ve all had our o ties in a ruffle over decisions since there were judges in combat sports. Not all are cut and dry calls. That O’Neil fight card being split wAs flat out disgraceful and if not corrupt, definitely far too unqualified to call future fights. That was insane.

Basically we've got another logjam issue at this point. I don't think anyone can beat Izzy other than Rob. Same as probably nobody can beat Volk apart from Max. and probably nobody can beat Figgy apart from Moreno. And all those ranked 1 guys probably can't be beaten by anyone other than the champs.

I'm pretty sure Chimaev would really take the jelly out of Izzy's donut however. That's a horrible fight for him. Even if he couldn't secure TD's through 2 rounds Borz would control him/grind him out against the fence. If Whittaker can outgrapple you....yeah.

But Chimaev won't be getting that fight for a loooooooong time.

I still think my read on how Rob can beat Izzy is right. Every moment in which he had success was in Boxing/Short range. If hadn't tried to play the same game he did in the first fight in space he wouldn't have eaten those leg kicks, would have dominated the clinchgrind and probably won.

You give Izzy his distance you give him the fight. It's that simple.

I am rather surprised to check and see so many people thinking Whittaker won. I rarely listen with commentary and did not last night. Maybe this is the reason, I have to fully agree with @loudenswain. Even in the rounds you can give Whittaker, you can see someone giving it the other way.

I am going to go back and watch Modafferi fight and wouldn’t be surprised to see some close rounds too. Commentating sways a lot of the public opinion. Most of the time the commentators might miss something or preoccupied with their job to really judge a fight. Yet the public takes believes them 100% when there are no counter points.

Clear win for Izzy imo, and whittaker is my favorite all-around fighter/person in the UFC. I had it 4-1, Rob didn't do much unfortunately
