Most of the rumors I heard (which I think most have heard at this point) was in regards to his training, or lack thereof, prior to the 1st Stipe fight. He went on vacation, hardly trained, thought he was going to walk right through Stipe, like all of his other fights.  I think he rubbed quite a few people (including Dana) the wrong way during that timeframe. He needed that wake-up call, and the subsequent one after the Derrick Lewis fight as well. He's much more grounded now, and dude just wants to get paid. Can't blame him for that. UFC definitely went dirty with the interim title fight, so I can't blame him for feeling a little bit resentful there.

Interesting, just read the articles about that sparring. I would be more concerned if it was a knockdown from a punch, tbh. A knee to the liver could be a freak land, and I'm not sure that's something you'd expect to get hit with in sparring, but who knows. I mean c'mon, Gane is the guy who went the distance with Boser, Volkov, and Rozenstruik. I'm not exactly shaking in my boots at his power.

Yeah that’s pretty much what I was thinking when I saw that news. Gane may be the new breed of HW but one thing he doesn’t have is insane ko power.

does Ngannou have gas for over 1 round? I'm gonna say that Gane is gonna have better fight IQ than Stipe.

I think he does but I really would be surprised if he gasses pats like round 2 or 3. Luckily Ngannou isn’t super high volume cuz he only needs one shot to ko so he’s probably pretty good at gas management

What is the gameplan to beat the champion? I don’t think there is one. Gane is really good but I think public opinion of him is being inflated because of this so called beef the UFC is creating.

Also good to see ufc 270 is following the same patterns as kattar vs chikadze; warlley alves and araujo both pulled out. At least they’re gonna find replacements
