He’s not a lock by any means so I get why people are taking him somewhat but the majority of people picking him is kinda crazy. Oleiniks takedowns are a little too sloppy for me to think he can get someone as big as hardy down

He's so old too at this point it's bad when he takes shots you can see he's wobbly just after one to the head especially in more recent fights

Even though I am really high on morales I am a little concerned about him here. He really hasn’t fought the greatest competition and Giles, for all his flaws, is a pretty good fighter. Giles’s problems are his fight iq and the fact that he keeps his hands low way too much. I will say tho, he has fought really good competition; he fought (and beat) three Current ufc guys on the regional scene and not to mention he’s going to be absolutely massive at WW. I mean Giles has fought as high as 205, not even sure if he can make WW but if he does he’s gonna be gigantic. Granted morales will have the bigger frame but it might be hard for him to work his takedowns as Giles is not only gonna be bigger but has pretty good takedown defense himself (75%) along with solid wrestling as well. Should he competitive on the feet as well as trevin has some pretty good hands. For what it’s worth, even though he did look great on dwcs, morales has shown to be very hittable which I don’t like against someone with power like Giles. I do like the 79 inch reach for morales tho, as that is massive for his weight class and also significantly bigger than Giles. I think giles’s biggest drawback tho is that he does make some really questionable decisions in fights (like dropping the hands against du plessis and almost throwing away the Krause fight in the third to name a few of his mistakes).

I’m going with morales but what are your guys thoughts?

Morales to keep the distance and pick him apart. That reach advantage will be hectic for Giles..

ye probably Giles makes so many dumb mistakes when he fights. Im just a little hesitant about the experience difference and the weight difference. also on dwcs Morales didn't really keep the distance. in his fights outside of the ufc he fights behind his jab and uses his range to pick fighters apart but he didn't really do that against Nikolay. not that I dont think he can hang with Giles (because he most definitely can) I just dont know how he fares in his debut against a really solid guy (id say that Giles is definitely the best fighter hes fought so far)

Also tempted to pick giles because I have almost no underdogs and I feel like this is one of the more competitive fights on the card/more likely to upset than others

Yeah I was really thinking about switching to Saimon too, but gravely is one of my favorite fighters plus I don’t think Saimon is all that good. I will say tho, when gravely fights it’s almost like he doesn’t even care about positioning; every fight I watch he has to escape multiple sub attempts. Watching his mouthino fight, he fought off like 20 heel hook attempts lol. He’s also always giving up his neck too. He does have great submission defense for what it’s worth, but he just gives himself up so much. I really don’t like that against a guillotine specialist like Saimon. What I’ve notified for Saimon is he actually really isn’t good against wrestlers. In a lot of his fights, he gets clinched against the cage and waits until the opponents gives their neck and then attacks guillotine, but Tony is gonna be able to get takedowns from anywhere and it’s unlikely he’s just gonna hold Saimon against the cage the whole fight. I’ve also noticed that in Saimons one loss, he got dominated in wrestling. Now granted, he played into farias’s game the whole time (who is a tremendous bjj player) but the majority of the fight was in full mount where Saimon realky couldn’t break the position the whole time. He also got taken down like 7 times (I wasn’t keeping track but it was a lot of times). I’ve also noticed he likes to control pace and his pace is usually pretty slow, which Tony does not; Tony is super high paced. Saimon even had Alday hurt and decided to go for a takedown which shows where he’s most comfortable. Nothing wrong with trying to win the fight where you are most confident but it seems like he wasn’t confident in his abilities on the feet. Also, this is a really tough debut for Saimon as well; he’s fought decent competition but Tony is just outside the top 15 so it seems like a weird matchup especially considering saimons inderwheliming dwcs performance

Tony is also one of my favorites. Just saying , I could see it happening. I don't really see any other Underdog worth choosing. Maybe the female fights lol

That drop in weight for Giles is no joke. I'm pretty sure fighters who have dropped weight have lost 75% of the time.

Saimon reminds me of De Freitas a bit that Tony fought a few bouts ago. I think UFC is throwing Tony Gravely a bone here, just gave him a new 4 bout deal contract and is fighting a new comer on a PPV event in front of a live crowd. Reminds me when they gave Ode Osbourne CJ Vergara who I believe was on the same DWCS Ep as Saimon. During tape Tony is 100% the better fighter it's just those submission attempts of Saimon will have your heart beating out of your chest if you have a bet on Tony as he has a kink for getting submitted.

Tony Gravely by R3 finish.

Yeah I agree. That one really smells upset because of Tony’s fight iq when it comes to submissions. I think bothelo might beat kim just because Kim has really bad fight iq.

Yeah that’s something to note too because Giles is going to be a gigantic WW so unless he’s been getting his weight down I don’t even know if he can comfortably make weight

Also I fully agree with your point about Tony. He really is the better fighter and this is a massive step up for Saimon. I don’t think Saimon is ready for someone as good as Tony either. He’s definitely not a lock tho just because he doesn’t give a **** about sub attempts

After some more thinking I might actually switch to Giles if he makes weight comfortably. If he looks **** on the scales the morales all day. Might just end up going morales too idk this is one of the harder fights to call imo
