UFC Fight Night: Vieira vs. Tate

Someone challenge me for this event. I’m bored

Yeah, I'm in. I don't care about this card at all though and will probably just pick the favourites so don't expect compelling comp.

There’s so many fights that could either upset or are almost 50/50 so you could honestly do better than me by picking all favorites tbh

Is it safe to say that McKinney vs Ziam will end inside the distance?  

Yanez, Tate, Sabatini?

Tate has a lot of 5 rounders while this is Vieiras first. Vieira could come out wrestle heavy early on and drop off around round 4. Losing to Kunitskaya is also a big red flag. Idk if Tate is a shell of her former self, we’ll have to see, but she was the first to finish Reneau and she looked good in that fight. I think Tate will pace herself better over 5 rounds. If this was 3 rounds I’d probably lean Vieira.

Ziam isn’t much of a finisher at all. I do think McKinney is 1 round fighter but it’s hard to base that off his record. Minner is dangerous in the first round and Woodson it him with a knee from a sloppy TD attempt. If it’s extended I favor Ziam, but Ziam is prone to submissions.

I pretty much said all my thoughts on the yanez fight 

Tate idk probably wins. I agree with pretty much everything token said there. I dont really think viera is really all that impressive and she also is coming off of a loss to kunitsakya where she got dominated. Not sure where Tate is skill wise, but its not like she's ancient plus, she's probably the best person Vieira has ever faced. 

Same goes for the Sabatini fight. Not really impressed with what I saw from lutz. Sabatini's striking needs some work but his wrestling and bjj is flithy so I think it will catch lutz off guard. Similar to the Tate fight, Sabatini is probably the best person lutz has fought. I saw lutz has been going to wrestling recently, which I dont like because Sabatini is good everywhere on the ground. Plus he has that division 1 wrestling background as well.

Chiesa vs. Brady

Incredible fight. Honestly I wish it was the main event. I'm taking Sean Brady--I think he stands his ground slightly better and Chiesa's footwork may pose an issue but he's got a good selection of low kicks and is excellent at controlling.

Yanez vs. Grant

Think Grant is being overlooked: he's tough and a veteran. That being said Yanez's slick boxing and read-making abilities should win him this over the course of 15 minutes.

Lookboonmee vs. Godinez

Loma's muay thai is so good, gotta go with her here.

McKinney vs. Ziam

Ziam's no joke but I think Terrance's explosiveness will award him a win here.

The line is moving towards Lutz which I thought it’d go the other way. Am I missing something? Saba is legit, his record should look the same as Lutz, he won that Mariscal fight and the other was arm injury plus better opponents on his record.

Same with Vieira lol. Money coming in on her.

Durdun is a good wrestler but so is Aori with a better gas tank. I think Durdan will fade and Aori also probably has better striking and a good chin. I think Aori is a great dog.

Sam Hughes is very durable but does not have good take down defence. Main concern is if Luana does not get a finish in R1 will she gas and lose the other rounds to Hughes? Definitely staying away from better her at those ridiculous favourite odds. I think Hughes does have a decent chance to win, but Luana has a better one. Not a fight to bet on.

Sabatini is very good, but again tends to gas out. Also Lutz has better wrestling and will likely keep it standing, Sabatini's take down accuracy is actually bad. Lutz will take it on the feet and have a better gas tank. Again a good dog.

Soriano is a very high level striker and has decent BJJ and a get up game. Though he has gotten subbed many a time, I will never put my faith in a chinese wrestler, not even one who is a supposed black belt. I think Soriano will smash him. Either way I think this fight is not going the distance.

Lupita will be about the same size as Loma, but will be stronger and able to hold her against the cage and take her down. I think Loma is levels above Lupita on the feet but will it stay on the feet? Close fight but taking Lupita.

I am taking Ziam over McKinney. I trust Ziam to avoid the huge strikes in R1 and then take over with distance striking and range control from R2. He is very high level on the feet and has improving grappling. I think McKinney is a R1 and done fighter and this time he will not get it done.

Taila Santos is going piece up Joanne. Much much better on the ground with really good takedowns and control. Also very decent on the feet and has good striking defence. Easy win for Taila.

Yaya Vs Kang. No idea about this one. Even fight. Staying far away from a bet here.

Yanez KO, but going over 1.5. Both are super tough.

Levy has good wrestling and better control than Garcia who I think is actually not that good a wrestler. He could barely get Nasrat down and kept losing position to Gruetz. My main worry is Levy has a really questionable chin and was cracked badly by Lugo in his LFA fight. I have no idea who wins this one but actually think Garcia has a chance.

Brady will handle Chiesa on the feet. On the ground I think he will manage as well. Chiesa will not be able to sub him and will be at high risk of getting subbed himself seeing that's how he loses to high level grapplers. Brady all day.

Vieira isn't that good on the feet and isn't that good on the ground. I think Misha has a much better gas tank and in a 5 rounder like this I expect Vieira to fade. I am taking Misha.

My confident (or semi confident picks) are Lutz, Yanez, Taila, Soriano, Misha and Brady. Riskier picks are Levy, Lupita, Aori and Ziam.

Ziam is a very skilled fighter and looks like a top 10 talent for about 2 rounds... Then he runs out of gas and has to survive.

I disagree about levy’s chin. Most people would be out cold after absorbing a shot like that. Plus he still knew what was going on and was able to get back to his feet despite still being wobbly

I wonder is Chiesa will get subbed again.  For a BJJ BB, he has been subbed a lot by fighters not known for submissions.

Pretty sure he’s a purple belt lol, he just has deceptively good chokes. Doesn’t really defend chokes well tho, so if Brady locks one in he’s toast. That being said I think he can still bring it to Brady. Chiesa surprisingly subbed dariush and dominated magny on the ground, so he’s definitely no joke
