I just read an interesting quote from Mario Yamasaki that explains a lot:

"MMA was never my main job, I have a construction company. I buy, remodel houses. I work with big companies. MMA was always a hobby to me."

Perhaps in the future, the UFC might want to hire a person who doesn't ref fights as a side gig. A fight is taking place where people are trying to injure each other. The UFC put a ******* general contractor in charge of making sure everything goes smoothly. It's amazing that nobody got killed during a fight Mario was reffing. Hire refs who are around the sport constantly. If I'm a fighter, I don't want my ref to have just finished demoing a house. Bob Vila wouldn't make a good ref.

I put 500€ on Aspinall just because Spivak looks annoying and didn't finish Oleinik

@Axafin, that's an interesting way to place bets but Aspinall does have the energy of someone like Ciryl Gane which is the future of the division.  Remember one thing in MMA, there is a rotating door of stars that come and go... both Gane and Aspinall have that aura about them that they will be here for a while.

I'm not saying Aspinall will be a champion, I think Gane is much better than him but Aspinall has top 5 energy about him.

I am truly mystified how any one is backing Spivac? Aspinall is dominant on the ground and on the feet, he beats Spivac everywhere. Spivac has looked horrible in his career so far, granted he’s had some good wins but he has never looked truly dominant, the many struggled to put oleinik out, aspinall is going to wipe his ass with Spivac

is there a big size difference between the two? because I was yelling at the TV white eating my doritos, drinking Mtn Dew and jacking off. I had some money on Spivac by stoppage by couldn't get it done.

This is one of those cards where I have 1-2 real predictions and rest I just follow mainstream Tapology picks lmao. Lungiambula and Aspinall by KO.

I don't Trust Paddy Pimblett yet, his record doesn't look crazy and in highlights he was doing so much crazy **** that could cost him the fight at the highest level.

I'll place my bets during the walkouts in this event.

-*** Luidvik Sholinian's 2nd latest win was against a guy making his debut and is now 0-2 and latest win against a small japanese dude who only beat other japanese people.

Aspinall is 6”5, Spivac is 6”3 so not a huge difference. Hahahaha, sounds similar to my night, luckily I only had Spivac to win however he didn’t look great in that fight at all.

There’s a few fights I’m confident on, I’m English so I’m always going to be slightly bias towards the English fighters but I’m very confident in Jack Shore and Tom Aspinall; they’re locks!🔒

I agree with Lungiambula but his gas tank scares me, I’m also quite confident with Jourdain.

I agree with Pimblett, I do think he wins but always hard to predict when someone is making their ufc debut, especially as Vendramini throws bombs so could go either way!

Loganarsenal how does Spivak go from being "terrible in his career so far" to having some "good wins" in the same sentence... that's the mysterious thing here ctfu.
Spivak is a well rounded martial artist at nearly +200. He has strength of schedule and value on his side and that is why people are backing Spivak. Aspinall should win but I could definitely see a path of victory for Spivak

Bettors looking for "value" instead of considering "who will ******* win" is the biggest crock. Draftkings has poisoned your brains. Nothing I hate more than hearing about how -170 for an obviously better fighter is "too much juice" but that +120 for Sam Alvey is "good value".

Ehhh, value is a real thing. People just over use it to excuse bad picks. Usually it's not on straight lines it's found on props. Like when Minner fought Laramie for example, Minner by sub was a beautifully valued line even respective to their odds. Another example on this card that got corrected really quickly was Dalcha and Barriault fight goes the distance at like +280. If Barriault wins (and he is the favorite) it's almost 100% by decision.

There's no such thing as good value in a losing bet.

I never look for value, I always focus on who I think will be the winner , couldn't care if I'm not making bank from my stake as long as it's profit 👌🏻

Agree with both of you, value is real. But there is a mindset that trying to snipe value is some kind of next level strategy. Whereas I'll always agree with what HiDefff said, there's no value in a losing bet. Sometimes I'll take a shot on the second most likely outcome if the odds are great. Like taking Derrick Lewis to win by KO in the first when he's an underdog at like +600.

But there are whole Youtube channels like Hype Check that just chase dog****. Anything beyond -150 is "no value" and all their picks are overly clever "here's why this +250 fighter has a better chance than you think". I think if you treated each UFC card like a Pick Em game, and then just parlayed your three favorites moneyline picks, you'd do far better than chasing value.

Its the same thing as people saying "dog or pass" like why just because of some juice you will only consider one side of this fight? makes no sense to me but to each is own right. Isn't my money being bet.

I don't care how wrong the oddsmakers have it, if you think a guy will lose you probably shouldnt bet on them. And conversely, especially if you're willing to parlay, if you think a guy is a lock at -200, he's still a lock at -300.

Heres a fun one for you guys. Why is Nick Maximov the grappler currently an under dog ever so slightly to the guy who gets subbed in every loss? I cant figure this one out for the life of me. He opened as high as -165 some places and has been bet against to the point he's the dog now.

Oh interesting... maybe just him being a little unproven? But he fought on Contender series as a heavyweight, and he's coming down to middleweight. Gonna be a big strength advantage for him... might have to jump on that.

Another interesting matchup just got announced: Rafael Fiziev vs Brad Riddell. That's gonna be wild.

Rountree vs. Bukauskas
Khalil Rountree, TKO, R2
This will most likely be a kick boxing match, where I give Rountree the advantage because of his power and defense. I think he’ll hurt Bukauskas before finishing him.
