Funnily enough, intelligence usually coincides with higher rankings in fighters.

By that I mean that smarter, more intelligent and logical fighters rank higher.

(Except Costa and Rakic, who are two bean bags in terms of intelligence, but are still great fighters.)

Yeah...because people who don't speak like you or talk with slang are unintelligent.

I share @NgannouPunch's sentiment. Seems to me that intelligence is contextual. Some fighters who seem like total morons outside of the cage are brilliant when they fight. Likewise, I've rolled with people who are sharp as hell off the mat, but on the mat they're uncoordinated, slow learners, and struggle with the most basic concepts. So bad that sometimes you think, "how are you not getting this?" I mean, just look at Conor. Dude seems smart enough, but then he goes off and punches some old guy in a bar for not wanting his ass booze, or throws a dolly at a bus window, or smashes some guy's phone, or throws an unoppened energy drink in a crowd and smacks someone in the head, etc. Turns out, even though he talks like he's got a pretty good handle on things, he's actually a ******' idiot.

It's not his slang or his accent that gave me that impression, c'mon man. Watch his interviews, he said he's gonna beat stephens and have another fight next week before he goes on vacay. Even kattar got busted up pretty bad in a win over jeremy. regardless of his intelligence, he doesn't seem very focused on the fight, and would rather complain about not being top 15. Doesn't have the same fire stephens does

Klose said he's only gonna fight 4-5 more time than he's gonna retire. His logic was that all the top guys are "grandfathered in" in his words, so he believes he has no chance of rising up the ranks or fighting for a title. However the ufc has cut more ranked guys in the past few months than ever before and he's right on the cusp of breaking into the top 15. Just seems to me that he's not motivated anymore. what made me say he's not intelligent were his dismissive comments about stephens, way too ****y for a guy who just got put on a highlight reel his last fight.

Yea, the guy's always been ****y. I remember hating his attitude when he fought Teymur, but in the three fights after that he showed such improvements that I had to give him his props. I always look forward to his fights, despite the arrogance.

BOXING – It’s The Bro vs. The Pro

You’ve never seen a showdown quite like this before. On Saturday, April 17th, controversial Youtuber / Pro Boxer Jake Paul will take on former Olympian and UFC fighter Ben Askren. With nothing other than pride on the line, you can expect both men to leave it all in the ring. Paul is 2-0 in his boxing career so far, though it bears mentioning that his victories have come versus a fellow YouTuber and a retired NBA player. Askren has experience on his side, having held welterweight titles in the Bellator and ONE Championship MMA promotions, respectively.

Will he silence Paul? Or will the social media star live up to his promise to end Askren’s career?

Current Boxing Line:

Jake Paul (-195) vs. Ben Askren (+165)

(Unlimited betting max)

Odds boost option +200 on Askren max $10

Btw, I never liked how Dan and Stephens hit guys when they were clearly done, but everyone is doing it these days.

When I saw Francis go for the hammerfist on Stipe I was screaming in my head 'NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!'

Just noticed too, why is Romanov v Espino on the prelims? Arguably best grapplers in HW division.

I wanna see that over Whittaker Gastelum to be honest.
