I really think it dumb to think Rob gonna owned Gastulum like the Majority of people think.  Gastulum is a great fighter and he not gonna get 5-0 swept or knock out early.  I see this fight being a really great fight and Rob maybe slightly edge the decsion like 3-2 with Rob getting knockdown once,

Haha yeah, I just think it's a bad matchup for kelvin, his last win vs heinisch was his first since mid 2018

If the Gastelum that fought Izzy turns up the Duck will probably have his day ****-slapping a whole lot of naysayers. It's unlikely short-notice Gastelum is that Gastelum, but you never know. If he does win I'm not going to be blown away. I do agree with Ducky that Whittaker's chin is FUBAR and he's right that he has been dropped/funky chickened by everyone he's fought...well, pretty much ever, but most recently against both Till and Cannonier. And neither of those punches were the kitchen sink, either.

Whittaker got wobbled blocking a head kick before getting KO'ed by Adesanya. He's not been the same since the second Romero fight. He should rightly be the favorite but yeah, this fight could get interesting. Even Whittaker himself said he expected a war with Gastelum and wasn't surprised when Izzy vs Gastelum turned out to be the banger it was. I'm pretty sure he wasn't ********ting.

Props to both of you for not simply going with the herd and choosing your own ground.

Do you guys think Espino can really beat Romanov? I just can't see it happening nor can I see Arlovski loosing to Sherman even on short notice.

Arlovsky goes out for the check. If they tell him to lose, he will lose. Romanov is training in the basement.

Romanov vs. Espino
Juan Espino, SUB, R1
There's something in the water. Is Romanov a freak athlete, yeah absolutely, dude can explode people onto the ground and definitely wrestles well for his frame and explosiveness. But my god he has nothing on Espino who is not only the better technical wrestler, but vastly superior on the ground. Romanov is mostly a maul to exhaust and then submit exhausted fat boys. Espino is a precise and methodical BJJ master the likes that heavyweight hasn't seen since Werdum. Romanov also doesn't have amazing striking unless he's horizontal and on top. His striking accuracy at distance is actually 100%, yes you heard that right the total of 2 strikes at distance he's thrown he landed. But his total striking accuracy is 39% which means that his clinch and ground striking is just sloppy and non-technical. Espino who finished both of his opponents in the first round and spent about half the time in the cage as Romanov has landed more strikes at an 80% accuracy clip. There's just no reason to judge Romanov as a favorite here unless he can catch Espino starting slow. But take the 5 inch reach advantage for Juan and the superior grappling I think he subs Romanov easily in the first or second as Romanov panic rushes in Espino catches and arm or a neck.

Gravely vs. Birchak
Tony Gravely, DEC
Gravely is expensive on draftkings, but he might be worth it despite likely not getting a finish. I think Gravely secures a minimum of 5 takedowns this fight and controls pretty much the whole fight on the ground. Possibly even earn a late finish depending on Birchaks cardio for this fight. Small chance that Gravely gets repetitive and Birchak cleans him coming him in, but this should be a feeder fight for Gravely. Not sure what he did to earn it, but Sean Shelby isn't a moron and he knows what he's doing here.

@Swaller and @Tie, I had a tough time picking the Romanov/Espino fight, but ultimately, it came down to the age difference and Romanov's explosiveness and volume. I picked Romanov by GnP, not because of the damage it'll do, but because I think eventually he'll get to a position where he's raining down shots and the ref will intervene. Espino is definitely the better technical wrestler, but it's very difficult to hold down a dude like Romanov when sweat and strikes are in play.

Also, I picked Sherman by KO. It's mostly because I'm a fan, but I also think he's improved a lot since the UFC last released him. Arlovski is definitely the better boxer, but Sherman can take a shot. And he's improved enough in my eyes to where I think he can hurt Arlovski.

@Ranger, I agree. If Romanov wins this it's going to be by virtue of being the vastly superior athlete.
