Odds are way off in the kenney wood fight, should be at evens imo. Getting wood at +160 is solid dog money and you might even get a better line if recency bias keeps coming in on kenney

I think the odds are about right really. I know Wood's wrestling has looked good against cans but he's nowhere near the wrestler Kenny is. Not even close.  He's also nowhere near the striker Kenny is. Wood has lityerally never beaten anyone good unless you count Ewell. Kenny has beaten Bermudez, Borg, and Royval. His only loss is to Merab. Wood was TKO'ed and out-grappled by Dodson.

Wood isn't worth a bet even at those odds.

I get where you’re coming from fish. Kenney has beaten a lot better opposition, won quite dominantly and looked good doing it, but I do think that wood has beaten fairly decent fighters to. I agree with the fact that he’s the better wrestler, but I’m gonna have to disagree with the striking aspect. I think the striking is even, maybe wood is slightly better imo. Kenney can definitely win, but I think those odds are off and a bet on wood isn’t out of the question

@FistyMcKickerChoke Gaethje himself admitted that he doesn't like to wrestle because it gasses him out. Justin hasn't had a proper wrestling exchange in the last 5 years, it's crazy how people are saying that he's going to stuff Khabib's takedowns when he doesn't even practice wrestling right now. So Gaethje will probably gas out by the 3rd (if it goes that far, because he can still KO Khabib while he's fresh or get submitted earlier in the fight).
Also, I'm pretty sure that Dustin rocked Khabib in the 2nd round of their fight, even if it was for a couple of seconds.

Wouldn't Khabib technically be the "safest pick" since he's 28-0? lol

@damien at least have the decency to attempt to spell the mans name. I’d say his wrestling is underrated because of fans like you who assume since he hasn’t used it much it means he doesn’t have it. And @sergey gaethje has been training at elevation so I don’t think he’ll gas the same as he would have before. This is a totally different Justin than he was a few years ago when he was undefeated. Khabib would have smoked that guy.

But how far does D1 American Wrestling take you in a high level MMA fight? Khabib uses aspects of wrestling, not pure wrestling, while mixing in his Judo and Sambo on top. Then when the fight hits the floor it's a lot of BJJ, Sambo and Judo attacks. Like Khabib keeps repeating in his interviews, Justin needs to be prepared for all martial arts here. I respect Justin's credentials and skills, and I'm sure Khabib does even more, but relying on only wrestling seems like a bad strategy. From what I've seen even in Justin's early career fights, he doesn't use BJJ in any way at all. He'll fight hands, use proper grip, wrist control, etc, but that can all be learned through years of wrestling anyways. It just feels like Justin bringing 2-3 martial arts to the table might not be sufficient against a guy who mixes up like 5 or 6 together and they are all primarily grappling arts that chain together techniques that allow complete submission of his opponent.

I’m not saying he’s only relying on wrestling, I’m saying his wrestling will force this fight to the feet enough that he can win it. I don’t think that’s unreasonable.

Oh I see. Yeah in the first and second rounds it'll be interesting, even Poirier gave him trouble.

People weirdly underrating Khabib's boxing. He's got a great chin, and landed the better shots against both Poirier and Conor. He's not just a lay and pray fighter. He can stand with Justin.

Volkov vs. Harris
Walt Harris, TKO, R1
Close fight, Harris arguably won against Reem if they stopped it in the 1st

Ankalaev vs. Cutelaba II
Magomed Ankalaev, DEC
Where is the option for Cutelaba TKO -1 rounds?

Struve vs. Tuivasa
Tai Tuivasa, TKO, R1
Surely fighting for their contract. i would normally take Struve as better wrestling, but he never uses it or his reach. So lets go Bam Bam

Jung vs. Alvey

Alvey wont be smiling anymore

Nurmagomedov vs. Gaethje
Khabib Nurmagomedov, TKO, R4
Khabib ground + pound on a fatigued Justin.

Whittaker vs. Cannonier
Robert Whittaker, DEC
30-27 Rob. Complete shutout.

Volkov vs. Harris
Alexander Volkov, TKO, R3
Volkov will finish a tired Harris after some adversity in the first.

Hawes vs. Malkoun
Phil Hawes, TKO, R1
I like Malkoun's BJJ pedigree but Hawes has beaten better competition and faced real adversity in his career.

Murphy vs. Shakirova
Liliya Shakirova, DEC
Women's Flyweight. Always go underdog.

Ankalaev vs. Cutelaba II
Magomed Ankalaev, TKO, R2
Can't believe UFC have wasted a year of Ankalaev's life trying to book this absolute wash of a rematch. Cutelaba nowhere near Ankalaev's level.

Struve vs. Tuivasa
Stefan Struve, SUB, R1
Struve should attack Tuivasa's biggest weakness and snatch his neck early.

Oliveira vs. Rakhmonov
Shavkat Rakhmonov, SUB, R2
Rakhmonov's finish rate is great and I suspect it will continue in his UFC debut.

Jung vs. Alvey
Da Un Jung, TKO, R1
#OperationCutSamAlvey

Jojua vs. Maverick
Miranda Maverick, DEC
Jojua isn't very good and Maverick will be looking to make waves in her debut.

Kenney vs. Wood
Nathaniel Wood, DEC
FOTN potential. Back and forth scrap with Wood edging it on the scorecards.

Alvarez vs. Yakovlev
Joel Alvarez, SUB, R1
The neck catcher is back. Another easy one.

Cannonier has to make quick work of Whittaker. The confidence level in his power and strikes heading into this fight I'm sure he won't be afraid to let them go and connect Whittaker isn't a chinny fighter by any means. JC just ******* hits hard.. he can't let this one go to the judges.

Whitaker always gets kind of weird and cagey when people mention Adesanya or the belt. He kind of seems like he either doesn't care, doesn't want that fight, or is lowkey contemplating retirement. But then he says "I'm not going anywhere." and takes a fight against a former heavyweight KO puncher.
Anyone think Walt can do to Volkov what Derrick Lewis did?
