Predictions: 8 of 11 Winners, 2 Perfect, 465 Points   |   Tied for 76th

The main event wasn't booked without significant controversy, but I'll watch Curran fight any day.

Aside from the featherweight belt, we've got the Season 10 Welterweight Tournament Quarter-Finals. This tournament saw a significant shake-up last week and barely resembles its original form, which means it's anyone's game. I guess that's the selling point.

Anyways, prelims kick off on Spike.com at 7pm ET followed by the main card on Spike TV at 9pm.

Kelvin Caldwell scored rounds 2 & 4 for Curran

David Hinkel only scored round 3 for Curran

Otto Torrerro (sp?) scored rounds 1, 3 & 4 for Curran

Those are some wild scores.  Curran won round 1 (IMO), but only one judge saw it that way.

Interesting to see that only one judge scored the first for Curran.

Apparently I'm in the minority because I was underwhelmed by the main event through the 1st 4 rds. Obviously the 5th was better and the finish made the fight better but both fighters were way too cautious & measured thru 4 rds. and the judges scorecards just reinforce the reality of what Dana says. Personally I gave Curran 1, Strauss, 2 & 3, then Curran 4 & figured we were gonna get a controversial decision with all kind of conspiracy talk so at least that saved us from that ****.

I thought it was a good fight, no fight of the year but a good one. My gf was complaining about it most of the time but she's a total just bleed noob.

Yes maybe I could've worded that better. I didn't think it was a bad fight, there was just enough ground and clinch work so that it was a complete MMA fight but not too much stalling or holding the other down (because both are pretty good wrestlers), Strauss showed more striking, Curran showed more wrestling, and there was a decent level of suspense since both landed decent strikes but I kept seeing, hearing, & reading comments like: FOTY! etc. that I thought were totallly overboard.

Finishing a title fight in the 5th rd. almost always makes a fight better and this finish was late as hell so that definitely saved it but I still think Pitbull should've gotten a shot at Strauss before this rematch and Frodo beats them all if he ever gets his visa **** straightened out.

Yeah, I pretty much agree I wouldn't even consider it a fight of the month but it was pretty good. Also
Had it scored the same way.
