The PFL announcing a really good card like this, immediately after the UFC get told to make a better card by the Saudi Arabian backers, is absolute gold.

Predictions: 11 of 11 Winners, 2 Perfect, 655 Points   |   Tied for 284th

Ferreira vs. Bader
Renan Ferreira, TKO, R1
This is either Ferreira round 1 ko or bader by however he wants rounds 2-5; I don’t see this going any other way. Bader is significantly better than Renan everywhere (imo) but he is old, small, and has lots of milage. Bader doesn’t have a great chin & has never been a great striker. Renan is absolutely terrible (imo) but he is a physical monster who has insane power and speed for a heavyweight. The problem is he’s all athletic talent, with no real mma skills. He can’t fight technical, has a suspect chin, can’t wrestle, and doesn’t have very good cardio. Round 1 I think he is very live for a finish. He’s so much bigger & faster than bader that I find it very difficult to see bader surviving round 1. If he can survive, then this is one of his easier wins. He will just grind out Ferreira. However I really don’t see that happening, I think his time is up and Renan is too fast

Kasanganay vs. Eblen
Johnny Eblen, TKO, R4
winning the belt was awesome to see, but I think this is a terrible fight for him. No doubt he has improved since leaving the ufc, and I am very happy to see him win the belt but he fought bum after bum to get to the title. I rate silviera but he had nothing for impa after round 1. Impa honestly is better at 185, but eblen is as good as it gets. I truely think he’s one of the best middleweights in the world. He has never ending cardio, elite wrestling, and ever improving striking. Impa is tough but I think eblen finishes him

Pinedo vs. Pitbull
Patricio Pitbull, SUB, R2
Pinedo’s 2023 run was pretty insane, but I also feel he got pretty lucky. He has clearly improved since he was in the ufc but his wins were a burnt out loughnane, a burnt out bubba (massively overrated his whole career btw), and then the Braga win was actually good. However, one big thing is that nobody has tried to wrestle him. Bubba is a great wrestler but I don’t remember him shooting once in that fight. Pitbull is definitely on the decline but I think people are way overrating his losing streak. For one, fighting pettis was an awful idea. Pitbull had no business at that weight class & killed himself yo make the weight. As a result, he looked horrible in there because he had no energy. Now the Suzuki loss is actually pretty bad (Suzuki very high level striker with insane power but he is not a great mma fighter) but, I think people are just taking it at face value. Pitbull took this fight a month after pettis, on 3 days notice, flying halfway across the world, and fighting 2 weight classes up (cuz this was after the pettis fight). He had absolutely no business taking that fight. Now, pitbull is aging but besides these two completely unnecessary fights, he hasn’t looked bad at all. At 145 I still think he is a very high level fighter. His grappling is elite and he will use it here 100%. I’m still not sold on Pinedo magically being some elite anti wrestler who can keep it standing. I also think pitbull can win on the feet, but it will be risky as Pinedo is huge and throws hard

Magomedkerimov vs. Jackson
Jason Jackson, DEC
Still not sure how to feel about magomed. He is the most unathletic dagi I think I’ve ever seen, and he doesn’t fight like one either. He is predominantly a striker but will wrestle when he needs to. My main issue with magomed is he fights to his opponents level all the time; doesn’t matter if they’re elite or a mid regional fighter he will fight down or up to their level. He was pretty mid most of last season but then completely dismantled sy. Now, that likely is due to sy being extremely flawed but it was still a great performance. Jackson is boring but extremely effective at what he does. He is a wrestle boxer with unlimited cardio. His whole gameplan is beat you up on the feet and mix in wrestling. His wrestling is a chore to watch because he is just a wet blanket; never looks to pass into mount, never throws gnp, and never looks for a finish. That being said, he is super high level at wrestling. I think this is going to be a classic Jason Jackson shutout. I wouldn’t be totally shocked if magomed pulls something out of his hat tho, I feel like he always has more skills than he actually shows in fights

Cappelozza vs. Nemkov
Vadim Nemkov, SUB, R1
Not sure how to feel about nemkov at hw. I think he will be fairly undersized at the weight class, but maybe I’m wrong. Either way, he is much better than cappelozza. If nemkov tries to stand with him (at least early on) then he will get dropped. His standup is okay but he has been rocked multiple times by some bad fighters. I don’t think cappelozza is good but in round 1 he comes out guns blazing, throwing everything and the kitchen sink at you. Nemkov is goong to win this with wrestling. He is a very good wrestler and cappelozza can’t wrestle at all. If this goes past round 1, this is all nemkov. Not only can he grapple for 3 rounds but cappelozza is essentially a 1 round fighter

Santos vs. Romero
Thiago Santos, TKO, R3
If this happened 5 years ago, this would be a candidate for one of the best fights of all time. In their primes both these dudes were must see action fighters. I still have hopes for this fight but really wouldn’t be shocked in the slightest if it turns into a sparring match. Santos is a shell of himself atp; he can’t move the same due to him basically having no knees and he is just really starting to slow down in general. Besides that hill fight, every other fight since jones has been an extremely boring sparring match. I don’t even think santos is scared to engage, he just can’t keep that insane pace he used to. Now if there was anyone he could beat currently, it’s old man Yoel. Yoel is a specimen but he is ancient & has one of the strangest fighting styles in all of mma. Hes an elite wrestler but barely uses it. Instead he stands there doing almost nothing, relying on landing a power shot to change the whole page of the fight. The weirdest thing is round 3; Yoel magically wakes up in every round 3 and starts to kill people. He still stands there but he actually lets his hands go. I think santos is actually going to be up on the scorecards (assuming he doesn’t get dropped) because, as boring as it is, he will actually do things in there. Him and Yoel will spar & santos probably tries to mix in takedowns. But when Yoel wakes up in round 3 (hopefully, there’s a good chance he doesn’t) I don’t think santos can handle that ugliness. He can’t keep a high pace anymore and his chin isn’t what it used to be

Collard vs. McKee Jr.
AJ McKee Jr., DEC
McKee at 155 is not impressive to me at all. Hes still got his skills but he gives up strength at this weight class & his bad wrestling is even worse at this class. That being said, hes still very athletic, very dynamic on the feet, and a really good grappler. It also helps that collard won’t look to grapple with him. Collard is an awesome fighter to watch but his fight iq is poor and he has historically struggled with grapplers his entire career. McKee’s kicks are going to do a lot of work here & I think he should be able to get this to the ground. McKee has been seriously underperforming at this weight class tho so wouldn’t be a crazy shock to me if he loses. At 145 I think he’s a top 5-8 level talent (compared to ufc level) but at 155 he’s more like a top 20-30 guy

Ali Walsh vs. Morris
Chris Morris, SUB, R2
Finally he’s going pro. I am not a fan of the Ali Walsh experiment but he’s finally going pro which means he has to fight people who are actually going to challenge him. Idk anything about this other guy but he can grapple, has a good record, and only lost to good prospects. I will say, Walsh has some clean boxing but I really am not impressed with him as a fighter. We haven’t seen any of his grappling and he was slowing down in 3 minute rounds as an ammy. Those extra 2 minutes will make a difference.

Braga vs. Pico
Aaron Pico, TKO, R2
This is an awesome fight. I like both quite a bit. Braga killed it to start the pfl season but looked very bad in the finale. Pinedo is better than I thought so that plays into it but he really just figured out Braga. He wasn’t respecting braga’s strikes due to a lack of power, and pressured him which played into his poor defense. Braga is really skilled everywhere but those two qualities are the biggest holes in his game. Pico has had a lot of learning experiences, but he is supremely talented & really just looking better every fight. Striking is somewhat competitive but I think the power of pico makes the difference. And big wrestling advantage for pico; Braga is okay at wrestling but pico is very good there & his gnp will cause some issues. I like Braga a lot but I think pico takes this fairly easily

Shields vs. DeSantis
Claressa Shields, DEC
Not really a fan of pfl trying to push shields. I get she’s a very good boxer & it’s cool to see her trying to do mma but she just doesn’t do it for me. I find her personality to be awful and she’s just not really that good at mma. That being said they are giving her a layup here. This girl she’s fighting has some terrible losses & looks like she does mma just as a side venture

Al-Qahtani vs. Rao
Abdullah Al-Qahtani, TKO, R2
Al-qahtani dissapointed me last time out but his skills are very good. Hes very well rounded but I do wish he had better finishing ability. This guy he’s facing is a tin can, should be an easy win

Basahel vs. Pereira
Malik Basahel, SUB, R3
I really wish they’d stop investing in amateurs. Just sign them to compete as pros if you want them so badly. That being said, I like the signing from pfl; bashael is a really solid guy

3 round championship figth is strange. Its possibly because some PFl champ want to do another season so they need to avoid injuries.

Bader vs Ferreira is hard to call. Bader may handle him on the ground for 3 rounds but Ferreira probably put him ligths out.

Eblen, Magoemdsharipov and Nemkov seems safe pick to me.

I have Magomed Magomekerimov winning by decision, I think he has better wrestling. Not sold on Jason Jackson yet, I don't know if amasov had a bad weight cut or was drugged before the fight but he wasn't himself when he fought Jackson, I have seen amasov wrestle with khamzat so I know something was wrong with him. It will be a good fight and I give it 55% chance of magomed winning

Pitbull rn imo is a layup against a heavy striker like Pinedo.

Maybe some champions want to be in the season aswell?
