I wasn't suggesting BDS is necessarily on the same level as guys like Dariush and Islam. That doesn't change the fact that my statement was technically correct: Moises hasn't beaten anybody who would be considered an above average grappler. All of his wins are against guys who would primarily be considered strikers, the only lone exception being Holobaugh who is more well rounded than he is a "grappler" (and also a career featherweight up until his fight with Moises). 

That was back in 2019 but his most recent win is literally no different. I know he was supposed to fight Guram (who I think he would have beat) but him submitting Melk Costa is exactly what I'd expect him to do considering Melk is a striker and a featherweight. I think his fight with Michael Johnson perfectly encapsulates the kind of fighter he is. He was getting pieced up on the feet until he just decided to use his much more superior grappling and jiu jitsu skills to end the fight. 

I thought BSD's striking looked great in his last fight and we already know that he's super durable after his debut up a weight class. He's now fighting a guy that got standing TKO'd by a submission specialist. I think Moises is going to have to essentially put on his best performance to date to win this fight. 

Moises to me at this point is a very similar litmus test that Bobby Green is for the rest of the division. If you can strike or just hang with Bobby Green in general, you're pretty damn close to a ranked opponent. Same thing with Moises: if you can grapple or just hang with him in a fight in general, you're pretty close to a ranked opponent. 

I think the UFC would love to have another main event worthy star from France but he's got to pass one final test before going 5 rounds with someone like Moicano or Dawson. Moises is that test.

I agree with most of what you're saying. If BSD can pass this test he's clearly going to get a top 15 opponent next. However, you can make the similar criticisms for BSD that you've made for Moisés. BSD has so far only fought guys who had 1 maybe 2 fights in the UFC and the one guy he fought in his debut who had decent UFC experience he lost to. I'm not saying BSD is a bust, but I'm not sold on the idea of him being a legit contender from him beating a few fighters who are barely UFC level.

I personally think this fight will be very grappling-heavy and there I see Moises having more experience and skill. I think he catches the Frenchie in a scramble or a reversal and takes his back. Can also see this fight be a war, both guys are tough to put away.

Spann decision would've topped my weekend off nicely, fumbled the bag couldn't make it look a more convincing round in the 3rd could he :/

General question 
If Gane were to lose this weekend, do we blame his coach,himself or do we say that he was never of an elite MMA level rather he was a fighter took advantage of his match ups without being exposed.

I see you in Hueco Mundo hope the Quincies left some infrastructure for you. 

As always the very clever and talented Crimson Chin is demonstrating his outstanding MMA knowledge. I'm sure someone with his amazing level of expertise knows that Spann won that fight and was robbed.

Or maybe he is training to be an MMA judge. He definitely has the brilliant mind required for that. He would fit right in with Sal D'Tomato, Chris Lee, Doug Crosby and Adelaide Bryd. 

I hope to see him on the Apex cards in the near future. I will be able to say....I know that guy! What an incredible judge of MMA he is. He deserves to be there amongst such esteemed company!
