It was a competitive fight. So I wouldn't have disagreed if Jan won this. It all comes down to how people score the second round. I think round 1 and 3 were pretty clear.

Good, Alex won in the striking exchanges in round 3. The takedown at 40 seconds with zero ground and pound or positional gain is meaningless.

Judges last visuals for the end of round 2 was just Jan getting beat. Plus Alex had the damage in that round. I have no problem with a split decision for Alex. It was that close and he had  the damage.

I felt like Jan did enough in rd3. The body language wasn't to his advantage but Alex didn't actually land that much in the round. SOme good leg kicks for sure but we never saw Jan stumble any from any one of those even if the commentators kept bringing up how red his leg looked. Yeah he's a pale guy, what can you do?

I knew the result when I heard Joe Rogan marking shots that didn't land and ignoring Jan's strikes, that this would be a decision for Pereira. This happens every now and then in UFC, especially when it's a fighter that UFC is trying to promote eg. Paddy Pimblett
