@freemoneyforall Kinda reflects the odds (usually happens with the picks). A bet on Saenz is paying around 3 bucks pretty much everywhere. What I meant is that I'm kinda amazed with the unbalance here.

Edit: What a cursed event, damn

Borg needs to be cut from the roster like now. Dude has pulled out 8 times now in his ufc career, and missed weight 4 times. Extremely unprofessional

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 4 of 8 Winners, 1 Perfect, 240 Points   |   Tied for 1091st

Brunson vs. Shahbazyan
Edmen Shahbazyan, TKO, R1
I’m looking forward to live betting this one. No way take a shot on Shabayzyan, odds are off. But if he whoops Brunson but doesn’t get him out of there in round 1, then I’ll probably take like a quarter unit shot on Brunson. Technically speaking Shah is kind of like a more athletic Lyoto with above average wrestling. I do think he has been way overhyped and I don’t see him winning the title anytime soon, but he’s a scary fight for pretty much anyone outside of the top three. If he wins and Uriah beats Romero, then that’s a great fight.

Calderwood vs. Maia
Jennifer Maia, DEC
This could actually go a lot of ways. JoJo has looked good since moving up to 125, but she has continued to lose to the level of competition that she was losing to at 115. Maia on the other hand has been at 125-135 her whole career. Typically at this small of a size going up in weight class isn’t actually making you that much better because the weight mean more. I would rather JoJo win, but I’m not confident. Maia can avoid the sneaky calderwood subs from bottom, most likely at least. This fight should be decided on the feet, or with whoever ends up on top in Rd 1.

Luque vs. Brown
Randy Brown, TKO, R2
Take some more time off Luque. God damn. War after war after war. Granted wonderboy fight was more of a one sided clinic, but Luque took a lot off damage still. I’ll pick Brown as a value dog.

Green vs. Vannata II
Bobby Green, DEC
Usually I really dive into the technique and the condition of the fighters and try to play it out by watching tape. Both of these guys are so weird and unreliable though that it makes it almost impossible. To me, this comes down to momentum as the deciding factor. Despite Vannata coming off of a win as well, the momentum seems to be with Green. Plus, losing to Klose and Trinaldo isn’t a huge knock.

Holland vs. Giles
Kevin Holland, TKO, R3
I have a lot of hype for Kevin Holland. And my god, I hate Trevin Giles for his performance against one of the absolute most gangster fighters of all time. He blew his wad against a fighter who took the fight on 48 hours notice. I dislike him for that, but these odds are off, he should be like a 1.5-1.6.

Saenz vs. Martinez
Jonathan Martinez, TKO, R2
Frankie Saenz could totally derail this hype train. This isn’t a repeat of Wineland vs. O’Malley. Frankie Saenz has a path to victory for sure, but he probably won’t achieve it.

Herman vs. Meerschaert
Gerald Meerschaert, DEC
Meh. Both of these guys’ wins are so underwhelming. Probably a decision for GM3, but hey a guy can dream for a quick sub?

Emmers vs. Cachero
Jamall Emmers, TKO, R3
At 145 I’ll take Emmers by stick and move until he catches Cachero running into a shot. Cachero is the better technical fighter though, just undersized here.

Gutierrez vs. Durden
Cody Durden, SUB, R3
Chris has a soft record. The new generation of MMA people.

Calderwood vs. Maia
Joanne Calderwood, DEC
JoJo is gonna maintain the distance and strike and keep it on the feet while occasionally grappling and landing some beautiful elbows and knees when Maia closes in on her. JoJo by decision.

Luque vs. Brown
Vicente Luque, TKO, R2
Some people doubting on luqu's chin but he still only 28. And he is fighting after quite some time. Round 1 will be an amazing one with both fighters landing some significant strikes. Round 2, Luque makes the necessary reads and adjustments and goes for the kill.

Green vs. Vannata II
Lando Vannata, DEC
First fight would have been taken by vanatta if not for the illegal knee. Split decision for Vannata.

@ToTo, what are you on about? He’s taken 341 significant strikes to the head in the last year and 114 of those were 87 days ago...? I mean, he could totally still have a good chin, not arguing that. I hope he does he’s a very fun fighter. But he has definitely not taken a lot of time off.

Since they're offering a shortcut to the UFC, I guess it's easy to have people on standby. This card was already short so it seems they had backup fighters for every prelim fight.

Predictions: 4 of 8 Winners, 2 Perfect, 280 Points   |   Tied for 578th

Brunson vs. Shahbazyan
Edmen Shahbazyan, TKO, R1
huge step up for edmen, but i do think he's ready and i also think brunson makes mistakes under pressure.

Calderwood vs. Maia
Joanne Calderwood, DEC
maia is built for 5 rounds and she's almost there, but this is like another chookagian fight for her and i'm not sure she'll grapple early enough to make up for a volume disparity.

Luque vs. Brown
Vicente Luque, SUB, R2
other ranked fighters are gonna use the wonderboy loss as justification to keep avoiding him, but luque is a badass willing to fight anyone and randy is one of the few willing to sign the contract.

Green vs. Vannata II
Bobby Green, DEC
bobby green is another guy i can never get right. i'll take him this time and hope lando can get some momentum if he wins.

Holland vs. Giles
Kevin Holland, DEC
totally possible that giles ends up on top early and wears holland down, but i think i like holland's chances of winning the standup instead and maybe even threatening subs from top position.

Saenz vs. Martinez
Jonathan Martinez, TKO, R2
striker vs grappler, whoever stays in their domain will win here. i'll go with martinez just due to youth and recent activity.

Herman vs. Meerschaert
Gerald Meerschaert, DEC
i hate picking gerald's fights. part of me wants to say ed herman is capable of staying upright and winning the striking, but that feels like wishful thinking, so i'm gonna go meerschaert decision and say he wins with ground control.

Maness vs. Munoz Jr.
Nathan Maness, DEC
i'll just go maness decision since he's been preparing and seems to have been fighting slightly better competition.

Perez vs. Ontiveros
Markus Perez, SUB, R2
i remember this guy as a fodder opponent for page so i'll go with perez. all his losses by ko so i wanna pick that, but i'm thinking that perez takes it down, hurts him there, and finishes with a choke.

Emmers vs. Cachero
Vincent Cachero, TKO, R2
props to all these guys for stepping up on such late notice. thinkin emmers gets a big first ufc win though. late notice and up in weight.

Gutierrez vs. Durden
Chris Gutierrez, DEC
another factory x type fight?
