My Summary

1. A.Silva: Are there really any questions as to why Silva would be number 1# on every pound-for-pound list? I don't think so. Anderson Silva has been ruling the Middleweight division since 2006, where the UFC at the time was captivated by; Tim Sylvia, Chuck Liddell, Matt Hughes, and Sean Sherk. Evidently, Silva is the only champion from the aforementioned group who has been able to conquer old father of time. Statistically speaking, no other champion in UFC history has defended their title as many time as Silva has. No current UFC champion has a better finishing percentage then Silva (88% finishing rate). As a fan, nobody has had more emphatic finishes than Silva. Case in point? No other MMA fighters resume is tantamount to that of Anderson Silva. 2. Jon Jones: to most MMA fans, they would instinctively put GSP here. I, on the other hand have a different view. Jon Jones has been nothing short of a demi-god thus far in his career. He has gone 4-0 this year finishing every fight in impressive fashion. Oh, and, He did that against 3 ex-UFC champions. GSP: likely the most intelligent and strategic fighter in MMA. What puts him behind Jones, you ask? Activity, and performances. Georges St.Pierre fought only twice this year and one of them being a not-so-impressive performance against the BJJ specialist, Jake Shields. GSP has also not been able to finish his competition since Matt Serra at UFC 83. Since his last finish Anderson Silva has knocked out 5 challengers and Jon Jones finishing 7 opponents. Jose Aldo: Ever since Dana White came public with his "Frankie Edgar is number 2#, I don't care what you say" spiel, people seem to have forgotten the pure dominance Aldo has displayed in his career. As of recent, Aldo won a worker-man type decision over perennial UFC contender, Kenny Florian. Do not be fooled, Jose Aldo is still as dangerous as ever and my prayers are with Chad "Money " Mendes, as he is slated to fight Jose Aldo infront on his hometown country, Brazil. Frankie Edgar: Although he beat BJ Penn twice, and Gray Maynard by KO there is a certain reason he fought Maynard and Penn twice; He doesn't win decisively. Granted, he did beat BJ Penn pretty well in their second fight and KO'd Maynard in the 3rd fight, the fight were pretty close and not as impressive as the champions ranked above him. Dominick Cruz: As I go farther down the list of champions, my compliments will become few and far between. Dominick Cruz, the inaugural UFC Bantamweight champion, has done well during his 4 title fight stint thus far. DC also suffers from the same inherent syndrome of being unable to finish his opponents in his title defences. Cruz displays a champion-type intelligence during his fights and has tantalizing foot work. He has a great overall game and could move up this list with more definitive victories. Junior Dos Santos: Yes, the last of the UFC champions. Not much to say here, hes been unstoppable thus far, but there is a heavyweight curse of being unable to hold on to the title for a decent amount of time. Junior Dos Santos has the ability to climb the list if he can disprove the H.W.C. Dan Henderson: Simple. With finishes over Feijao, Fedor, and an ass whopping to Shogun it seems baseless to argue ranking him any other way. Rashad Evans: Only has been defeated by Machida. Great KO power, awesome wrestling and a sound overall game he is right beside Hollywood Henderson. Nick Diaz: With his streak alone in Strikeforce it wasn't enough for me to squeeze him onto this list, but after what he did to BJ Penn, I couldn't keep him off.
