UFC Fight Night: Dawson vs. Green

This is a weird co-main event. Not that it will be boring, probably the opposite.
But I would rather see Morono vs Buckley or even Jackson vs Gutierrez in that spot. Pyfer is exciting but unproven and Abdul has no momentum because he's so unreliable.

On that note, everyone seems really high on Pyfer in this matchup. I don't totally disagree but can someone explain? Abdul can freaking bang and doesn't lose that type of fight very often.

Pyfer doesn't have to give him that type of fight, he's got good grappling (beat GM3 in a grappling match) and made use of it in his second contender series appearance against a one dimensional striker. He'll probably apply a similar gameplan here, just like Buckley did when he fought Abdul.

I do not see a former Welterweight banging or grappling well with Pyfer, this is a layup IMO.

I'm watching tape on Demopoulos right now to get a refresher on her fighting. I never noticed how big her forehead is LMAO. That thing is PEAKIN. Still love her though.

Think it cool how Montell Jackson is fighting someone talented, Montell is the biggest can crusher in the UFC, so it cool to see him fight someone talented,

Part of that is because in every fighter interview Montel looks like his dog just died and when asked who he'd like to fight he shrugs his shoulders and says "I guess I'll fight again if you really want me to".

Ricky Glenn is going back to the shadow realm unfortunately.

Cutelaba and Lins fight in a similar way, forward pressure, unload with strikes, get the opponent to back up to the cage, then either clinch and rest for a while or try to take them down for ground and pound (Cutelaba definitely favors the latter here as he puts on a greater pace than Lins in general).
Cutelaba is just a bit better in all aspects of implementing that plan. He's 29 years old vs Lins 38, has more stopping power in his strikes, is a better wrestler and I would say since he switched camps and started training in the US his cardio is much better than what it used to be. It looked better vs Clark, which is his last fight to go the distance, than Lins cardio has looked in his two decision fights at 205. Lins has 100% TDD but that's a very deceiving stat because noone has really ever tried to seriously take him down in the UFC.
If Cutelaba can throw 6'5 giants like Spann, Walker and Nzechukwu all to the ground I don't see why he would struggle with an opponent his own size.

The one worry with Cutelaba is his poor fight IQ. He just makes mistakes too often to be very trustworthy, that might be the one edge Lins has on him.
I got in a bit late on the line for Cutelaba, it's approaching accuracy right now but I think there's still a little bit of juice to squeeze out of it for those brave enough to put money on a meathead like Cutelaba.

Why is Gutierrez vs Jackson hidden on the prelims? Very odd placement

Maness vs. Mendonça

Mendonca is the less proven fighter in this match up. Maness comes off of a 300+ day layoff and has some more attrition on him, but I've been more impressed with him in the UFC, thus far. His only losses in the UFC have come against two extremely good fighers, one of them being a potential future champion, and he also has the better wins; he was able to come back from a bad first round to knock out another solid prospect in Tony Gravely. Layoff and age gap aside, I don't really see why Nate's moneyline is at +200... I'm not super confident, but I think Maness is absolutely good enough to win this fight. He has power, wrestling, size and experience all on his side.

2 weeks away and I already know all the winners. 

I am just remarkable.

It's been 4 days since the JJ Aldrich replacement notice. The UFC website still lists De La Rosa vs Egger. I know whoever runs the website can't be expected to finish rolling their thumbs in a day or two but it's been 4 days now guys, please.
