Cory Sandhagen, DEC
I trust Cory to be too smart to get caught by Chito. I expect another reassertion that he's one of the absolute best in the world
Holm vs. Santos
Holly Holm

Maycee Barber, DEC
yawn
Njokuani vs. Duraev
Chidi Njokuani, TKO, R2
Peak MW action, Duraev is going down
Perez vs. Kape
Manel Kape, TKO, R2
Perez's bad luck that kept him out of the cage will prove to be the end of his career. Unfortunate, but Kape has found his stride and it'll take a lot to stop him
Landwehr vs. Lingo
Nate Landwehr, DEC
This may be the first time I pick Landwehr, I'm done denying him his credit
Vergara vs. da Silva
CJ Vergara, DEC
da Silva is finally gonna get cut, he's not good enough to be here. Not to say Vergara is amazing either, but he's at least serviceable
Pineda vs. Lutz
Tucker Lutz, DEC
Daniel The Drug Pit is back. How do you get caught for steroids this many times? He's been out too long
Giles vs. Parsons
Preston Parsons, DEC
I don't rate Giles at all, Parsons looks to be solid

Duraev beats world beaters. Chiding is faster but might not get the ko.

Daniel Pineda, SUB, R1
Pineda is on the Juice. Ufc doesn't care.

Marlon Vera, TKO, R5
Other than Merab there's nobody I trust more in a 5 round fight than vera. Sanghagen has been rocked in multiple fights (lieneker,Yan, song) & even if vera is losing the entire fight he has enough power to completely change the outcome
Holm vs. Santos
Yana Santos, DEC
Not picking Holm if all she's gonna do is hold her opponent against the cage
Landwehr vs. Lingo
Nate Landwehr, DEC
Should be an easy win for Landwehr but sometimes he fights like an idiot so I worry
Lee vs. Barber
Maycee Barber, DEC
Lee has pretty good boxing but she got out paced by Araujo & barber pushes a pretty good pace
Perez vs. Kape
Manel Kape, DEC
If Starboy this seriously he should win but sometimes he doesn't have enough output so I worry here too
Njokuani vs. Duraev
Chidi Njokuani, TKO, R3
Basically if Duraev can't hold you down or submit you he's ******. Chidi has pretty bad Takedown defense but he's way better on the feet & I think he has good enough grappling defense to not get subbed
Pineda vs. Lutz
Tucker Lutz, DEC
I feel like lutz will grind out a boring decision. Pineda is a solid grappler but passed his prime
Peterson vs. Alexander
Steven Peterson, TKO, R3
I don't think Alexander is ufc caliber. Seems like their trying to get a hometown win for Peterson
Giles vs. Parsons
Preston Parsons, DEC
Trevin looked like **** against can crusher cosce. Tough to get a read on Parsons since he lost to D-rod on short notice & won against a short notice lightweight but I think he's solid enough to fade giles
Vergara vs. da Silva
CJ Vergara, TKO, R1
Daniel da Silva isn't UFC caliber
Torres vs. Ogden
Manuel Torres, TKO, R3
Tough fight to call. Ogden is alright but I think Torres is more dangerous & won't be as tentative as zullhuber was against Ogden
Salvador vs. Altamirano
Victor Altamirano, TKO, R3
I think altamirano will be the more durable fighter in a scrappy fight
Vidal vs. Cowan
Tamires Vidal, SUB, R1
Vidal seems like the more explosive & talented fighter. Cowan is athletic & has heart but I think Vidal is already the better fighter & is going to keep improving since she's only 24

Predictions: 7 of 10 Winners, 4 Perfect, 490 Points | Tied for 487th
Cory Sandhagen, DEC
Chitos recent win streak has been something incredible, but I think it ends here. Unlike Chitos last opponents, Cory is durable and won’t let him settle into his rhythm. On the feet, chito will land harder shots but Cory will be landing all the volume. Cory might honestly spam flying knees as well. One interesting thing to note is Cory has been spending a lot of time at 50/50 with ryan hall. We know chito doesn’t have the best grappling so I think Cory will employ a lot of grappling in this one
Holm vs. Santos
Holly Holm, DEC
The ultimate don’t care didn’t ask fight. Both these girls should’ve retired years ago. Holm is a dinosaur but at least she’s being competitve with top contenders. Gonns pick her because idk. Hope this fight gets called off
Landwehr vs. Lingo
Nate Landwehr, SUB, R2
Sad Caceres pulled out but this is equally as good if not better of a fight. Major step down for landwher but at the same time he’s a guy who beats people he shouldn’t and loses to people he shouldn’t so I suppose this could be closer than I think. Lingo is alright; he’s just a solid boxer with good tdd. Landwher loves a scrap and will probably make this ugly. Gonna go out on a limb and do Nate by sub since he likes to spam darce chokes for some reason.
Lee vs. Barber
Maycee Barber, DEC
Didn’t watch any tape on this one and don’t really care for either so I’m just picking the favorite. I think barber is so overrated and hope she loses.
Perez vs. Kape
Manel Kape, TKO, R3
I actually think perez is very good, but he has not gotten an easy break as of late. He already lost to two of the best at 125 and now he has to fight (imo) a future title challenger. My one issue with kape is he is a bit of an ego maniac; he’s so good everywhere but will do things like let himself get taken down or not throw anything and taunt. Once he makes his reads tho, man is he a force. Some of the best striking in the divison bar none. Perez is also a good striker but I really don’t think he can match kape. Kapes grappling is also very underrated as we saw on his last fight.
Njokuani vs. Duraev
Chidi Njokuani, TKO, R1
Duraev has been nothing but dissapointing since coming to the ufc. In his prime he had great striking and very dominant wrestling with some nasty gnp. In the ufc, he has shown very lazy wrestling (although dominant when he gets the td), a very bad gas tank, and a glass jaw (although he’s always been a glass jaw). The Buckley fight was so alarming to me; he made Buckley look like a world beater. Not only that, but not being able to take him down was just such an awful look. Now, he’s being thrown to one of the scariest one round fighters currently in the ufc. Chidi can be broken easily, but for one round he is terrifying. His striking is incredible and his speed & power is some of the best at 185. He is also gigantic and for the most part has fixed the holes in his grappling (he can be taken down and outgrappled but at least he’s not totally helpless anymore). I could see duraev spam takedowns and cause Chidi to fade, but I don’t trust the chin of duraev. I think the ufc has seen duraevs celing and wants to get rid of him
Pineda vs. Lutz
Tucker Lutz, TKO, R2
I have never understood the lutz hype, but this is a very easy win for him. As much as I love me some Pineda, he is such a shell of the fighter he once was. When he was in prime and roided up, he was dangerous everywhere. Slick boxing combined with very good power, and then his bjj was also very dangerous. Now, he keeps his hands at his waste and doesn’t even throw many punches anymore. Similarly, he cannot take a punch anymore. Since coming back to the ufc he hasn’t worn damage well at all and has pretty much quit the second he gets rocked in his last two. Speaking of two, that’s also the number of minutes Pineda has in his gas tank. Even in the Herbert fight, he was dead after round 1, burns just death gassed like he always does. Now, lutz. Lutz I have never rated highly, and he’s been gone for 2 years (feels like 5 tbh). His striking is pretty clean and he doesn’t discriminate his attacks (attacks every part of the body). For a guy who has so many decisions, he actually hits pretty hard. He will put everything into his punches but at the end of the day he is mostly a point fighter. One area of concern is his grappling and gas tank. However, Pineda doesn’t shoot takedowns at this point in his career and even though he gets tired, he at least has two rounds of gas where Pineda has 2 minutes, maybe 3 on a good day. If he’s juiced up (I doubt it) Pineda could win but I think he’s gonna get steamrolled badly
Peterson vs. Alexander
Steven Peterson, DEC
This fight is uglyyyyyyy. Peterson is one of my least favorite ufc fighters, and now he’s facing one of the worst guys on the roster, so it’s a very conflicting pick for me. Alexander is so bad. He’s a big FW and a very dynamic striker, but he’s fighting cans and is extremely low output. The biggest hole in his game is the grappling. I mean he’s gotta be the only fusion xcel guy who doesn’t know how to grapple. Tdd and bjj is just nonexistent. If peterson was smart (he’s not), he would shoot takedowns and this would be the easiest win of his life. But, peterson has the iq of jrey and mezzor combined, so he’s just gonna slug it out and make this an ugly brawl like he does every fight. I expect the volume of peterson to win him the fight
Giles vs. Parsons
Preston Parsons, DEC
I like giles and honestly think he’s very talented but like cowan, he has no idea how to put his skills together. At his best, he’s got sharp boxing, good powet, and good grappling; he’s just really solid everywhere. BUT, his fight iq is nonexistent. He won’t thrown anything, drops his hands at the worst times, makes constant grappling mistakes, and will let himself get compromised by making stupid mistakes. I also do not like giles at 170 at all. He’s 1-1 and got ko’ed, then followed it up with the worst fight ever against s very bad opponent. I think parsons is talented, but not nearly as talented as Jreynolds will make you believe (do not listen to him, parsons is top 25 level AT BEST). Parsons has really solid boxing technique, and very good grappling. One thing I don’t like about him, is his shoddy defense. He doesn’t defend himself very well and will quit if he gets hit too hard. However, giles lacks the iq and killer instinct to capitalize on this. I expect an ez parsons win
Vergara vs. da Silva
CJ Vergara, TKO, R1
It’s funny, this is a loser goes home fight, but both guys are in VERY different situations. Vergara is arguably 0-3 (he didn’t win the KR fight) and has missed weight in 2/3 of his ufc appearances. Da silva is also 0-3 and missed weight in his last fight. The difference between the two is cj is doing alright against very good comp and da silva has a getting outclassed by very bad comp. Cj isn’t amazing, but he’s a dog, hits hard, and makes fights closer than they should be, against much better comp. Da silva is pretty good for about 2 minutes, then he death gasses and quits. I could see him dropping cj early, but cj will survive and hand da silva his 4th loss in a row
Torres vs. Ogden
Trey Ogden, SUB, R2
I really like what I’ve seen from this torres kid BUT, i still have so many questions about him. The tape is limited, I haven’t seen him outside of round 1, and I haven’t seen him grapple. From what I have seen, he’s been very impressive. He fights with some swag and just has very clean boxing. He’s a super tall lightweight and also has a good guillotine choke because of his long arms. Ogden on the other hand, I don’t really know what to think. Decent kickboxing and pretty solid bjj/grappling, he’s been very inconsistent with his performances tho. Looked amazing on looking for a fight, and then horrible against leavitt (I’ll cut him some slack because short notice). The Zellhuber fight I think was more Zellhuber not showing up than ogden being the better fighter so won’t really factor in that one. If I knew how good/bad torres grappling is, then I would be confident in a pick. Another question I have about torres is his gas tank; he’s never left the first round, and in that camacho fight, he appeared to be slowing down at the 4 minute mark. I have to go ogden based on available info, but wouldn’t shock me if torres just sparks him in 1; his striking is very clean
Salvador vs. Altamirano
Victor Altamirano, TKO, R2
Been waiting for Salvador to make his debut for a while so I can fade him. The ONLY good quality this guy has is his power. On the feet, Salvador thinks he’s prime silva: hands at his waist and relying on head movement. However, spoiler alert, he is not prime anderson silva. His head movement is sloppy and he often gets caught big when he doesn’t make the right reads (watch the fight that got him on dwcs, an 0-0 can was peicing him up bad). Now victor on the other hand is also bad, but at least you know what you’re getting with him. He stays in your face and doesn’t **** off. Victor will also wrestle a good amount too, which is gonna give Salvador a lot of problems. Now, I could see victor getting dropped badly like his last fight, but I think he will tough it out and either outpoint Salvador, or mix in tds and ko him with gnp.
Vidal vs. Cowan
Tamires Vidal, SUB, R2
This is a weird booking. Almost feels like a step up for cowan compared to last fight. Now, Vidal is not good but she is more of a fighter than perez. Cowan is a very good athelte but a poor fighter if that makes sense. She has the tools: athelticism, speed, striking, but she can’t put it together. The worst part of her game is her grappling. Tdd and bjj is just nonexistent. Vidal is a bjj black belt who will wrestle when she feels like it. On the feet, I think I actually favor cowan, but Vidal is aggressive and hits hard, which may very well make the difference. If Vidal shoots takedowns tho she easily wins this fught. Another thing to note: cowan pulled out of her last fight because she had an ovarian cyst that ruptured. That’s a serious health problem, and I doubt she has been training since that diagnosis. Cant back someone who had a health scare like that

Chito Vs Corey
Predictions: 6 of 10 Winners, 4 Perfect, 415 Points | Tied for 1642nd
Corey has fought better strikers and better wrestlers than Vera. And let's not forget Vera was minutes away to losing to a washed up Frankie Edgar.
I think Corey is getting a clear decision here. Only has to win 2 rounds because R1 automatic goes to him.
Easy money.

Cory Sandhagen, DEC
I hate picking Chito fights at this level because I could see him getting both outpaced and outworked, and that's the side I'm going with here. Cory moves like a modernized Dominick Cruz, and although Chito can get a read on him, the fight IQ of Sandhagen is a notch above and I assume his elusiveness and adaptability to situations will render Chito's slow-paced, damage-based plodding style ineffective. Chito is extremely comfortable when he's faced with guys who fall in his line of movement. Although Cruz was dancing around him, Chito always had the pressure on him and managed to close the distance and set up several polished body->head combinations. That style of fighting, taking rounds off to make reads and then work in tight will not be sustainable against Sandhagen - even Yan, whose strategy is of similar nature to that of Chito's, was racking up points and accumulating damage by the utilization of his foundational boxing skills such as drop shifts in concord with his muay thai offense. I see Sandhagen employing a classic stick-and-move gameplan and finding extended success with it, taking four, maybe even all five rounds in the process.
Holm vs. Santos
Holly Holm, DEC
This one is simple. Holly's a decorated striker and Yana isn't some striking whizz or masterful strategist who can take away her best weapons.
Perez vs. Kape
Manel Kape, TKO, R3
Perez is better than his recent skid may suggest, because he's lost to two of the best flyweights. Plus, I think we can only draw a logical conclusion from the Pantoja fight because it showed us how he reacts to brawl situations - by covering up and taking on a defensive stance. The Figueiredo fight doesn't really tell us much because he walked right into a gilly and he seemed to be perfectly okay finding his range with kicks before that. Manel is a formidable striker but his legs are a free target when he's waiting on his opponents following the feeling out process, as strict counter-strikers normally do. However, if he attempts that against Perez, his legs will be chewed up and spit out. Still, I think he can rally late and find a stoppage when he starts to fight a little dirtier and gets in the fire.

Sandhagen will make me somewhat of believer if he can beat Chito, but I've never been on the hype train personally. Sandhagen has already been given 2 golden tickets to title shots and fumbled both.
Sandhagen isn't a championship fighter IMO but Chito just might be. Im on the Chito train until the wheels fall off.
