No obviously Charles missed weight since they tried 3 times and all of them were over but the guy operating the scale is going to have more errors than there should be because of his clumsiness in operating it. It means Norma might have actually hit 146 for all we know. They really need someone that knows what he's doing operating that thing.

If it was a scale issue more fighters would have missed or been just at the limit but almost noone used that last extra half pound. It was on the weight or an extra half all around.

I wonder what this does to the mentality of Charles. Will he feel like he lost already before the fight starts since he won't retain the belt either way now? Or will he be mad and more determined than before?

I’m sticking with Charles. I think he was on weight using the backstage scales and this is just one of those things. Sucks but doesn’t change the outcome.

The backstage scales are digital and the actual one is counterweight. I’m sure there’s a degree of variance. Was probably on target, maybe felt like he could stop cutting and maybe even thought he had enough room to hydrate a little or something. “Manel Kape: I ate some fruit” sort of thing.

I thought someone was ****posting when he said Charles oliveria just got stripped of the title for missing weight, but he was right, that nuts and dumb of Oliveria, just lost he’s belt and a ton of money because he can’t make weight propoly

I think in that situation you 100% shave off your hair. Missing by half a pound is the smallest margin that they differentiate. That means you might be off by 50g for the scale to tip more toward 155 than 155.5.

Bad weight cut or scale issue? If its a bad weight cut I think Gaethje will get the TKO victory.
