The last JMMA fighter they brought over for a title shot in her first time in Invicta worked out so well.  Why not do it again.

She did go five rounds with Sarah Kaufman in Strikeforce ... so there's always that.

Hashi is definitely more accomplished than Tamada (who had 1 or 2 remotely notable wins and weighs about 5 pounds under the weight class) though and not as ancient. She looked pretty good against Sugiyama, ADCC medalist, fought a number of top fighters and beat a few, and has a current title.

Think Honchak should take it without too much problem though

Honchak/Hashi, Waterson/Tamada, Aguilar/Fujino. Whats with all these women's title fights with random Japanese challengers? Lets just book Nakai vs Rousey while were at it.

?? Who cares if they're Japanese or where they're from. Also, the UFC isn't opposed to making title fights where the challenger is coming off a lose, unlike Invicta so far from what I can remember.

Strikeforce did it too with Yamanaka vs Cyborg. Had no business being in the cage with Cyborg, but challengers for women's 145 are/were hard to come by.

Yamanaka was 11-1 going into that fight and was ranked highly, granted not the best of competition but still can't blame Strikeforce for making that one. If we go just by results of fights then how many fighters that Cyborg fought deserved to be in there? She even annihilated the likes of Coenen. Cyborg is in the same position at 145 as Ronda is, going to destroy pretty much anyone in the division.

If the UFC needs a main event on the fly they just throw a random bantamweight or flyweight title fight on the card like Dillashaw/Barao or Johnson/Cariaso. If Invicta needs a main event they just feed a random Japanese chick to one of their champions.

@Live2. I think she was highly ranked BECAUSE of a lack of talent at 145. If you look up the girls she fought leading up to the Cyborg fight, only one had a winning record, one was a pro wrestler, and one was making her MMA debut when she fought Yamanaka.

But like you said, Cyborg is so far ahead everyone else, it doesn't matter who they would've put in front of her.

Very interested in Mizuki vs Karolina and Ayaka vs Tiburcio, really like all 4 fighters and Mizuki/Karolina winner is almost guaranteed in the UFC and Ayaka/Tiburcio winner is almost certainly getting the next title shot.

Only live about 4 hours away, might have to make the trip for this one

Ayaka/Tiburcio is listed here as a SW fight, but I think the bout is going to contested at AW. Ayaka has dropped down to Atomweight already for her last fight, and Tiburcio is only 4'11" so I think that she can easily make the 106lbs limit.

On second thought, keeping it 115 for now. Seen no confirmation on 105.

Very smart move. The turnout in KC was almost always horrible and they never found a suitable venue.

The quad cities are gung ho on MMA. I was up there last year for a multi-day amateur event and the turnout was amazing. They do get rowdy, though, just an FYI.
