I went back all the way to the 20th page and didn't see anyone who started a thread about movies. If there is one, just let this thread sink away into the abyss of thread history, but if not, this is something we can talk about. We've got one for every sport, music, and TV shows. So I figured might as well.

Watched Triple 9 today. It's a dirty and gritty crime thriller about crooked cops involved with the Russian mob. I enjoyed the film but it's very grimy and leave you feeling dirty. I found it to be quite intense.

10 Cloverfield Lane looks interesting. I assume it has to do with Cloverfield, either prequel or sequel.

Went to see Whiskey Tango Foxtrot this evening.  Stars Tina Fey, it is a bit more dramatic than I expected from the trailer but it has its fair share of humor. Based on a true story it's about a journalist who makes a dramatic career change from writing little fluff pieces to become a field reporter stationed in Afghanistan.  However it does have a few pacing issues and can feel slow at times.

Not really into the comedies of the last 20 years. There area few good ones but not like the original SNL cast member ones.

You wouldn't know good comedy if it came all over your face @Rappinpap.

@rappinpapsoda if you are referring to *** I would have to say it isn't really a comedy but a drama with some humorous moments from time to time. It's really a biographical drama about Kim Barker's time working in Afghanistan.  It's based on the book The Taliban Shuffle. The marketing for this film has been pushing the comedic angle because it stars Fey but many people will be taken back when they see a soldiers legs blown off and at the overall dramatic feel of the film.

Disney is planning 10 more Star Wars movies! This is pretty insane; the potential solo movies include Han Solo, Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Mace Windu! I knew they were thinking about doing 5 more, but 10 is exciting; article.

A Mace Windu solo movie sounds underwhelming. Reminds me of when they were talking about doing a solo Storm: X-Men Origins movie.

However I heard that Ewan McGregor was down to a full Obi-Wan Kenobi trilogy set. Movies to take place between episodes 3 and 4.

Not a big Sam Jackson guy, but I got into a bit of the old (and now irrelevant) expanded Universe, and Mace Windu was my favorite character after reading the Shatterpoint novel.

Would love to see it.

Some dude called the local radio station when they were talking about Civil War and blurted out the ending (ordering to the comics) X kills Y sort of thing. I see the marvel movies once and awhile, Captain America was never my thing, so I didn't care, but I was rattled that this **** spoiled it for people. The DJ even called him an *******.

I doubt that they will go that route cause they are barely sticking with the original storyline from the comics.
They are basically using the name of the comic and going with a different original storyline.

It made the news. Same with Superman getting killed by Doomsday, that made news too. Not really that much of a spoiler.

If it wasn't for JK Simmons being Commissioner Gordon now, this would have been awesome.

Ten more Star Wars movies would be overkill.

I don't know about that. There have been 12 Marvel films already and they are still going strong.  Civil War is really MCU part 13, Dr Strange is part 14. So expanding the star wars Universe beyond the Luke, Leah, Vader lineage may work well. As long as they are able to bring in and develope new and interesting characters. Them existing within the same universe really isn't a problem. If we can sit through 6 seasons of tv like the Walking Dead or 5 seasons of Game of Thrones then I can sit through just 10 more Star Wars films.
