I went back all the way to the 20th page and didn't see anyone who started a thread about movies. If there is one, just let this thread sink away into the abyss of thread history, but if not, this is something we can talk about. We've got one for every sport, music, and TV shows. So I figured might as well.

To start us off, this would have to be my favourite movie of all time

Apocalypse Now

The cast is amazing and this is one of Francis Ford Coppola best work!

@nomad good list, but no italians?

I would also add Murnau, Eisenstein, Ingmar Bergman and Abel Ferrara.

I don't know if anyone saw this but Tarantino is starting production on The Hateful Eight in November. It should be another masterpiece.

I highly recommend AGAINST seeing the new Godzilla. It's more of a superhero movie than a monster movie. If you wanna see Godzilla to watch him **** **** up and destroy humankind. Don't go. Watch the old Godzilla movies instead.

However, if you want to see a feel good story go watch it.

Gojirra was originally a arthouse film out of Japan and the monster represented the Atomic Bomb America dropped on Japan. Ironic isn't it how oblivious people are to ****?

I strongly agree with amp on the Godzilla movie. Wish convinced me to see it. I'm too easily convinced.

If you ever want to look sensitive to your gf/wife, I suggest watching 500 Days of Summer. GF convinced me to watch it and it's not that bad actually - in terms of romance-comedy movies. The soundtrack is really good too.
