I went back all the way to the 20th page and didn't see anyone who started a thread about movies. If there is one, just let this thread sink away into the abyss of thread history, but if not, this is something we can talk about. We've got one for every sport, music, and TV shows. So I figured might as well.

Saw it.

9/10, would watch several more times.

See it on the biggest screen you can.

Old cast is great. New cast is absolutely stunning, especially Daisey Ridley. Loved her and her character.

Works as a movie in itself and beautifully sets up Episode VIII.

Enjoy!!! Anyone who spoils the film will probably be permabanned.

Not saying you spoiled per say, but Skelli, you kind of did spoil it a little bit by giving away that you thought it was good, how the cast did and that it set up well for the next episode. Even a positive review can be a spoiler itself.

Have to wait a couple weeks to see it. I am on call for work so cannot take a risk. Hope it is not some far Left parable.

I don't think I spoiled the movie by saying I enjoyed it haha. But okay.

After seeing it, I can comfortably say that The Force Awakens is everything we hopped The Phantom Menace was going to be in 1999.

I 2nd the idea of a permabanned for anyone who spoils this film.

I had to go see The Force Awakens opening day because I freaked out after running into a spoiler. Great movie, I think damn near anyone would like it.

I read a possible spoiler on the theme of it so I will not say but I hope it is not the way they said it was in one aspect of the new female character. I have not seen it yet BTW.

Also saw it, also loved it. Agree with Unbeknownst in that it's everything we hoped the prequels could have been but weren't.  I also agree with Skelliher and what he said I was also hovering at a 9/10 maybe 9.5. If you are waiting to see you better ghost yourself from the internet because I already know people who have had major plot points spoiled.

Just finished watching "Goodnight Mommy" aka "Ich Seh Ich seh". It's the Austrian submission for best foreign language film at the Oscars this year. It's rare a country submits a horror film for consideration but it is certainly good. It is a very unsettling film that is straight up disturbing and has a psychological aspect as well.  In my mind it was very effective but I can see it not being everyone's cup of tea.

I really want to see that movie. Sick of North American horror. It seems like the foreign movies are actually more-so unsettling and scary then anything put out over here in a long time. Sick of jumpscares. I wanna be creeeeeeeeeped out. This seems like the type of movie to do it.

Goodnight Mommy was legit. I didn't really find it creepy though. Just thought it was well written and had a good "twist" to it. Definitely worth watching though.

I think that all horror worldwide is lame. There are different ideas of how to frighten someone and it varies by culture. Many people think the Japanese horror is creepy but I just find it weird.

I saw a few movies now since Star Wars which I've now seen twice and actually liked more the second time around.

Sisters - Raunchy Comedy that was odecent, better than I thought it would be but not great.

Joy - Well acted but not a great film. Didn't give a great impact because in the end it's still about a woman who invented a mop.

The Danish Girl - Again well acted but lacks a certain emotional punch.

Carol - Cate Blanchet is fantastic in it, award worthy as always. It's a good romantic drama about two women who fall in love in the 1950's.

Point Break - Pointless remake that has little to do with its source. Bad acting, writing, editing.  Totally disjointed laughably predictable plot but there are good visuals and cool looking stunts. That being said still a bad movie not worth watching.

End of the Tour - a film about an interview by Rolling Stone with writer David Foster Wallace. There is some really good dialogue which is good because that's what the movie pretty much is. I liked though.

The hateful eight 10 outta 10 film for me wow is it good.

The revanant is also an incredible film with a bear mauling scene the likes you have never seen on film before.
