I went back all the way to the 20th page and didn't see anyone who started a thread about movies. If there is one, just let this thread sink away into the abyss of thread history, but if not, this is something we can talk about. We've got one for every sport, music, and TV shows. So I figured might as well.

ok not a movie but I just watched the netflicks documentary series "The making of a Murderer"

WOW.

i was hooked instantly, I watched the whole thing in like 2 days which is not like me at all. I strongly recommend this one to everyone.

I don't want to give it away but man, it really makes you think.

@trevpicks

I totally agree with the hateful 8, loved that movie. i've seen it twice already just for that ending lol.

9.5/10

as for the revanant... I agree that the bear scene was pretty crazy but truthfully I didn't really find anything else all that interesting in the movie besides the acting. I'm not calling it bad but... an over 2 hour movie for one scene is a bit much for me. 6/10

thats what makes it a good documentary. it opens up all kinds of opinions and debates.

again, I don't want to spoil it for anyone but let's just say that I think that the Gov are making an example out of him to protect the flaws in the justice system.

Watched "The Hateful Eight" today excellently crafted film great dialogue of course. I will say it's not my favorite Tarantino film though but it's not my least favorite either.  9/10

Making a murderer is insane. It's one of the best series currently and it's one of my new favorites. I just finished episode four. Personally I believe from what I watched that their are people who committed a crime and haven't paid for their crimes. Hopefully with the exposure, these *******s will pay for what they did. This does not in any way excuse what happens later which should also carry with it the proper punishment. I tried to be careful with what I said so I don't spoil anything.

Saw "The Big Short" today. It's very good, excellently acted, darkly humorous and yet sickening at the same time. Golden Globes seems to think it's a comedy though I'm not so sure despite the dark humor that exists in the film. Of course they think "The Martian" and "Joy" are comedies as well.

Saw Love answer Mercy. Paul Dano did a good job as Brian Wilson. It's too bad Wilson had a few breakdowns as he had more musical talent than all of the Beatles combined.

@rappinpapsoda Love & Mercy was really good, I was surprised by it.

Watched "The Revenant" today and it is a beatifully shot film with some moments of extreme intensity and brutality.  From a technical aspect it's near perfect.  Has some brilliant acting from DiCaprio and Hardy. Though it's a little thin on story and it has a few lulls that make you feel it's length.

Gangs of New York was great and I feel DDL deserved to get the Oscars but they did not give it to him.

Gangs of New York was one of Scorsese's worst.
