Ely vs. Evinger Wiki
Ely and Evinger took to the cage for the first bout of the evening in a bantamweight tilt.
Both fighters kept their distance to start the fight, with Evinger pumping a jab. Ely landed a nice right cross with a hook behind it that stumbled his opponent. Ely utilized good head movement to throw Evinger off. Ely came in with another right cross that landed then the fighters clinched up and traded knees to the body before breaking off. Ely ducked a jab then landed a body kick. Ely came forward with a jab then ducked in and secured an easy takedown, moving into side control. Evinger rolled to his knees and Ely spun to take his back, sunk in his hooks and attacked the neck with a choke. Evinger fought the tap for a long time, causing Ely to abandon the choke and attack with the other arm, drawing the quick tap this time.
The official end came 3:45 into the first round, giving Ely the submission victory.
