Prediction Comments

Predictions: 8 of 12 Winners, 2 Perfect, 535 Points   |   Tied for 596th

Delija vs. Moldavsky
Valentin Moldavsky, DEC
Weird one here. I always have a hard time figuring out where to rate Moldavsky. Every time I start to think he sucks, he wins a fight and looks decent but then whenever I pick him he looks terrible and gets destroyed. His standup is pretty bad for a heavyweight but he is a really good wrestler. I like delija a lot but I don’t think he has the wrestling chops to beat Moldavsky. He will win if he avoids the takedown though, Moldavskys standup is really bad

Goltsov vs. Vassell
Linton Vassell, TKO, R1
Really don’t like the age on vassell but he has looked amazing recently. Idk if he’s juicing or hitting a glover-esque second wind, or both but he has looked fantastic on his current win streak. Hes got really powerful standup but his tdd has looked a lot better recently. Goltsov is really talented but he is allergic to showing up in big fights. I guess this one isn’t really a big fight but I do think vassell is a tough out. Of course, since this isn’t a title fight Goltsov is probably going to walk through him, but idk if I want to take that risk

Carmouche vs. Velasquez III
Liz Carmouche, SUB, R1
Just why. I get the first fight was controversial but carmouche clearly showed she’s better in the rematch. Not only this but I just don’t think Velasquez is even that good. As I said earlier, she robbed kielholtz badly and has gotten wrecked by carmouche twice now. Maybe she finally catches up with carmouche but I’m really not seeing it

Fortune vs. James II
Daniel James, TKO, R1
Despite losing the first fight I wanted to pick fortune. James is my guy but he is ancient and really can’t wrestle at all. However, the more I keep thinking, the more I remember how bad fortune actually is. He’s a great wrestler but doesn’t have much else and, he’s got some of the worst fight iq I’ve ever seen; like just constantly does the wrong thing. He was beating James pretty easily with wrestling, but due to a mixture of his low fight iq and James massive size, he lost control and got slept. I feel like fortune is the better fighter but he’s just so ******* dumb I can’t back him, even though this is actually a very winnable fight

Ditcheva vs. Mauldin
Dakota Ditcheva, TKO, R1
I mean, I guess this is a step up compared to who ditcheva has been facing but this is still a total mismatch. Ditcheva by however she wants, really hope we get Dakota vs santos in the finals this year

Cappelozza vs. Bilostenniy
Sergey Bilostenniy, TKO, R1
Good matchmaking here, both guys look really good in round 1 and then become very average when they gas out. Despite this, I favor bilosteinniy. He could get bonked early if he trades with cappelozza but he has a big wrestling advantage. Cappelozza is pretty one dimensional in that regard so I think sergey takes him down and wins with gnp. If this gets extended past round 1 I favor cappelozza simply because sergey just falls apart

Santos vs. Kielholtz
Taila Santos, SUB, R1
I like kielholtz and I think she also has a deceptive record; she was robbed badly in her title fight and also against Joanne. While I do think she’s underrated, she really drew the short straw here. Taila santos is still very much an elite wmma fighter and should still be in the ufc. She is a monster physically and I think she’s going to do whatever she wants to kielholtz

Mowry vs. Popov
Steve Mowry, TKO, R2
Tricky one here. I like mowry a lot but his last two fights have shown that when he is the one getting taken down, he is pretty clueless off of his back. So strange considering he is a solid grappler. It also doesn’t help that takedown spam is the only thing his opponent is good at. Despite having a very clear flaw, I think mowry will avoid getting taken down and beat up Popov. Then again, maybe Popov just wrestle ****s him and makes me question why I went with mowry.

Watanabe vs. Young
Kana Watanabe, DEC
Young is better at 125 but still not very good. She has decent skills everywhere but doesn’t have what it takes to compete at the major level; she is very tough though and has a ton of heart. I honestly had no idea watanabe was 35 but she’s just better. I thought she was robbed against Macfarlane and then her only other loss is a 30 second ko to carmouche who’s just a wrecking ball

Hackett vs. Bishop
Jena Bishop, SUB, R2
I wish bishop wasn’t 38 because she’s honestly quite a solid mma fighter. She has elite bjj but her striking is really solid for a grappler who came into mma late. Shes also got really solid takedowns to boot. Hackett has improved since her dwcs fight but I think this is a really tough fight for her. I favor her standing but I think Jena can make it competitive. Then the grappling gap is very wide. I think bishop just gets her down and subs her

Brennan vs. Ivy
Lucas Brennan, SUB, R1
As we all saw in his last fight, Brennan is nowhere near ready for big step ups in competition; I think this is a great showcase fight for him. Ivy is a solid vet but very beatable. I don’t think he can win rounds off of Brennan but he may be able to survive past round 1. Either way, I think Brennan will sub him with relative ease

Golm vs. Heiderman
Marcelo Golm, TKO, R1
Golm isn’t amazing but he is solid. I think he was too green for the ufc and has improved a decent amount. Heiderman really shouldn’t be at 265 and I think his standup is pretty bad

Inaba vs. Neil
Sumiko Inaba, DEC
Not super impressed with either girl. Inaba was bellators big wmma prospect but she really is not that good. The only thing I like about Neil is that she’s really big for the weight class. Not too confident in inaba but I think she takes this

Delija vs. Moldavsky
Ante Delija, DEC
I am not a fan of Moldavsky at all. I get why some people think he has a chance here because of his wrestling, but then again, he had his wrestling ability or whatever when he fought Vassell, and look what happened there. I honestly think Delija could even knock his ass out cold, but realistically this will most-likely go to a decision. Still tho, a win is a win.

Predictions: 8 of 12 Winners, 3 Perfect, 505 Points   |   Tied for 683rd

Goltsov vs. Vassell
Linton Vassell, TKO
At first, I wanted to pick Goltsov, but then I realized that his little tirade in the PFL WAS against bums, and Vassell HAS had a resurgence recently...for some reason. I guess with that logic, it only makes sense to pick big scary British man. I just hope father time hasn't caught up to him yet.

Fortune vs. James II
Daniel James, TKO
Now I get it: James may be starting his midlife crisis phase, and has the wrestling ability of a mannequin, but Fortune can't make smart decisions in a fight to save his life. Plus, James has been Knocking other dudes out not too long ago. I can honestly see the ultimate underdog story here, and it will be glorious, the way only an American Predator would make it so......don't......don't take that out of context....

Cappelozza vs. Bilostenniy
Sergey Bilostenniy, TKO
Sergey is bad, but Bruno is even worse. Nuff said really.

Mowry vs. Popov
Oleg Popov, DEC
Popov may be a fraud, but I just can't bring myself to back up Mowry. Not after that last performance.......Or the last one before that.............Or even the last one before th- You all know what I'm trying to say here.

Golm vs. Heiderman
Marcelo Golm, TKO
I mean, it's Jordan Heiderman he's fighting. Do I honestly need to say more?
