Lacerda on the scale had the look of a man who knows it's the last time he weighs in for a UFC event.

They told chairez to stop cutting weight after lacerda missed hence why he was 131. That's ******* hilarious. Lacerda looked like death and chairez didn't even have to cut the hard pounds.

I'm not saying it doesn't make sense, but Lacerda by decision at +1800 just looks so insane.

@AyyLmaonnaise
he actually might have a chance, Chariez is gonna have less cardio as the fight progresses since he's over the limit by 6 pounds, the more you are over the limit, the less your cardio lasts

I think Lacerda miss weight on purpose because he know Chairez was going to miss weight by 5 pounds. Could of save the fight because of it

Has there ever been a fighter who's fought the tallest and shortest fighter's in his division in back to back fights?  Mendonca has essentially fought 2 bantamweights thus far, and 2 pretty good ones at that. I mean, if I'm Mendonca and I just lost to Basharat, I'm moving down to level the playing field and fight guys that are more my size. Instead, he gets Manness who's even bigger than Basharat. Feels like the UFC is trying to put Mendonca in a position to succeed here.

Even with a near 10in reach advantage, this fight is essentially a pick'em. On the feet Mendonca should have no problem with all that reach. If he's forced to grapple, however, I think Aguilar has a decided strength advantage.

I'm gonna have to put on my skeptical hat for that one. Lacerda weighed in 35 minutes into the weigh ins meaning there was 1h25 minutes left to weigh in, and he only missed by 1lbs. If what you're saying is true then Chairez would need to cut the last 5 pounds in less than 2 hours when he stopped? That hardly seems like an under control cut.

If Lacerda's camp indicated they would not make weight several hours before the weigh ins that makes no sense either as there's no way they could know they wouldn't be able to make weight when he actually got down to 127 with 85 minutes to spare. Don't fighters get up to an extra hour if they miss? So he could have kept cutting for another 2.5 hrs to get the last pound off?

Likely an excuse from Chairez or his team.

I was kind of wondering the same thing. I can only assume with the fight at elevation and his job clearly on the line, Lacerda didn't even want to try and cut another 1lb in weight. He's already known as a 5 minute fighter and was probably so depleted that even trying to get 1 more pound off would have severely jeopardized his chances of winning tomorrow. It's just a shame because if he got 1 more pound off, he'd have a fraction of Chairez's purse even if he loses.

I always blame the UFC when fighters decide to stop cutting because it means the incentives are not calibrated correctly. It should always appear to fighters like the best option is to continue to cut, whether that be from losing even more money than they do currently or some other penalty if a fighter stops cutting.
Fighters regularly just take the -20% purse hit rather than go through with a cut, or an attempt to cut down as low as possible. That means they have a weight advantage without the drawback of having to recover from a tough cut.

Love your logic Coz, maybe add a 165 catchweight to the mix just to make it weird as possible like some bumfight in "EA$! Eruo".
