Prediction Comments

Predictions: 10 of 11 Winners, 5 Perfect, 650 Points   |   Tied for 330th

Gane vs. Spivac
Ciryl Gane, DEC
feeling like cyril will play more conservative in order to preserve his range.

Fiorot vs. Namajunas
Manon Fiorot, DEC
manon might be a better striker and could also be the more stable grappler.

Saint-Denis vs. Moisés
Benoit Saint-Denis, DEC
kinda feeling like moises is being written off here, i'm not sure benoit will have the sorta ground advantage others are projecting. i do think benoit's aggression will get him scorecards though.

Oezdemir vs. Guskov
Volkan Oezdemir, DEC
possible bogdan lands a big one early, but his level of competition isn't convincing me to go against volkan who may be a little overhyped, but certainly belongs.

Gomis vs. Ghemmouri
William Gomis, DEC
not sure what to expect here, so i'll just go against the debut.

Charriere vs. Zecchini
Morgan Charriere, TKO, R1
morgan has had better competition.

Lapilus vs. Loughran
Taylor Lapilus, DEC
despite the layoffs, lapilus has been fighting ufc level talent.

Loosa vs. McKee
Ange Loosa, DEC
maybe rhys can make use of his range better now? still thinking loosa has the ability to mix it up more.

Cornolle vs. Edwards
Joselyne Edwards, DEC
seems like volume vs power and edwards has shown good enough movement to avoid the big shots i think.

Basharat vs. Rodrigues
Farid Basharat, DEC
will be interesting to see who can dictate range and who has the grappling advantage if someone gets inside.

Fairn vs. Cavalcanti
Jacqueline Cavalcanti, DEC
i feel dirty taking all favorites, but i guess that's what i got today. hard to have faith in zarah to use her range against someone the same size as her when she was barely able to keep up with someone half a foot shorter than her. plus age and initial weight miss.

Poignant New Predictions

Predictions: 10 of 10 Winners, 4 Perfect, 600 Points   |   Tied for 813th

Oezdemir vs. Guskov
I am all about Volkan Oezdemir at -190. He has a twisted ground and pound. Oezdemir isn't about to limit the underdog.

Fairn vs. Cavalcanti
I choose Jacqueline Cavalcanti at -380. She has a tasty spinning back fist. Cavalcanti ought to rattle the achievement.

Basharat vs. Rodrigues
I lean towards Farid Basharat at -370. He has a zany reverse side kick and a wondrous armpit slam. Basharat ought to locate the unthinkable. Bank on it!

Lapilus vs. Loughran
I love Taylor Lapilus at -175. He has a weak double leg flapjack. Lapilus might quiet the cutman.

Gomis vs. Ghemmouri
I prefer William Gomis at -210. He has a villainous takedown. Gomis must destroy the ring announcer. Guaranteed!

Gane vs. Spivac
I have a crush on Ciryl Gane at -175. He has an amoral spinning back elbow. Gane must incorporate the foe.

Fiorot vs. Namajunas
I crave Manon Fiorot at -200. She has a laudable vulcan nerve pinch. Fiorot will likely drop the counteragent. Winter is coming!

Loosa vs. McKee
I finger Ange Loosa at -165. He has a poignant double leg flapjack and a digital lapel choke. Loosa ought to gargle the unthinkable. Trust me!

Saint-Denis vs. Moisés
I lean towards Benoit Saint-Denis at -165. He has a quirky scissors sweep. Saint-Denis might mislead the masterpiece.

Charriere vs. Zecchini
I tap Morgan Charriere at -345. He has a distinctive crotch-hold. Charriere ought to excite the ring announcer.

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 9 of 11 Winners, 3 Perfect, 595 Points   |   Tied for 849th

Gane vs. Spivac
Ciryl Gane, TKO, R2
Spivac not the most durable guy in the world. He really does not like to get hit and I think Gane's movement is going to cause him fits. This fight isn't happening in the apex for a reason. Spivac thrives in the smaller cage but I think Gane has a nice bounce back performance here. I can't fault him for being a deer in the headlights against Bones. Grappling is clearly the weakness in his game but Spivac too me is just more of a mauler who relies a lot more on physicality than he necessarily does skill. I just don't see him rag dolling Ciryl the way Jones did. Ciryl still managed to out strike Ngannou in their fight despite being controlled for over 8 minutes. I don't think Spivac will be able to to even take a similar amount of punches from Gane. He really, REALLY does not react well to getting hit clean.

Fiorot vs. Namajunas
Rose Namajunas, SUB, R3
Contrarian pick of the week. Giving Thug Rose a lot of respect here since she seems to perform well with her back against the wall. She's also arguably the best striker (Rose is at least as good if not better than Chook) and maybe overall fighter Fiorot has faced thus far (MBS was not at her ideal weight class but still a very impressive win). I think if Rose mixes in her grappling and fights aggressive she will take this. Rose is slightly younger, more experienced and has fought nothing but good competition. Rose always seems to be in a lot of close fights though so I think she's gonna try to do everything possible to not leave this to the judges.

Saint-Denis vs. Moisés
Benoit Saint-Denis, TKO, R3
Moises going to push BSD but I think this is another test he passes with flying colors. Skill for skill these guys are pretty comparable. Moises looks like the better striker after his last performance but you have to give Moises the grappling edge. I think BSD will have no problem striking for the majority of this fight. I don't think Moises can go shot for shot with BSD who showed in his debut up a weight class he's ready to die in the octagon. I think Moises will have to really compromise BSD early and just smother him with his grappling to get this done and I just don't see it.

Oezdemir vs. Guskov
Volkan Oezdemir, TKO, R1
Guskov is an absolute can crusher but he has a nuclear right hand. Oezdemir on the decline but he hasn't declined so far that he should lose to someone who you can literally just jab to death. He might not be "No Time" anymore but I think as long as "Some Time" shows up this is a lay up. I'm not trying to be dramatic when I say if Oezdemir loses this fight he should probably retire. The skill difference here is massive.

Gomis vs. Ghemmouri
William Gomis, DEC
Gomis needs to be a little more active but he's got a lot of really good skills. Ghemmouri QOC isn't great and he doesn't throw a ton of volume but he does at least keep a decent pace. I think Gomis wins this clean 30-27 and has a solid chance to get a finish but he hasn't shown enough aggressiveness thus far in the UFC to convince me he'll get a stoppage here.

Charriere vs. Zecchini
Morgan Charriere, TKO, R2
Potential FOTN here. Zecchini is a tempting dog but I gotta go with the more experienced fighter here. Charriere gets a finish here as long as he's not fighting tentative and just trying to land that 1 big shot. Zecchini is all action and I think his aggressiveness is gonna get him caught.

Lapilus vs. Loughran
Taylor Lapilus, TKO, R2
Big uphill battle for the Don here after being given a very winnable fight. Punchers chance but Lapilus is just too good. Experience gap probably just a bit too wide here.

Loosa vs. McKee
Ange Loosa, DEC
CW fade. I don't McKee is any different of a fighter than when he was first signed to the UFC. I've actually really liked what I've seen from Loosa so far in the UFC. Good athleticism, very well rounded and has good fight IQ.

Cornolle vs. Edwards
Joselyne Edwards, DEC
Nora is still very green in MMA but Joselyne seems to fight to the level of her opponents. Big split decision vibes here.

Basharat vs. Rodrigues
Farid Basharat, DEC
KR can probably find some success at BW but this is a rough first test. Basharat gotta find a finish eventually. KR needs to really close distance consistently and win the clinch battle if he wants a shot at winning here.

Fairn vs. Cavalcanti
Jacqueline Cavalcanti, DEC
I will never pick Zarah Fairn in a fight. Really hope Cavalcanti finds a finish here but not gonna hold my breath considering its a 140 catchweight.

I really can't fault anyone picking Moises. That fight is going to be awesome and he's easily the best dog on this card next to Rose IMO.

Zecchini is very tempting at +275. That guy is a nut. Throws flying knees like there's no tomorrow but he's just too aggressive for me. I really like what I've watched from Loughran but Lapilus is just too much too soon. I think McKee and Ghemmouri are borderline UFC fighters. Cornolle has a shot because she's such a good striker but she's also barely a dog. Guskov could land that lucky bomb but if Oezdemir has anything whatsoever left in the tank he should beat this dude like he owes him money.

Definitely a few tempting spots to try and make a contrarian pick, but Rose is the only dog I got.

What you guys think about Zarah winning? She lost to
Megan cause the wrestling, Felicia because the wrestling, and a close striking match with hard hitting Josiane. I dont think Jaqueline beats those 3 either. Does Jaqueline have good wrestling and BJJ? Because her striking doesnt look soo impressive.

Gane vs. Spivac
Ciryl Gane, TKO, R2
Spivac doesn't take punches well, expect Gane to put some eat on him

Fiorot vs. Namajunas
Rose Namajunas, DEC
Rose has been in there with the top dogs of woman's MMA, expect the veteran experience to help her to a decison today

Saint-Denis vs. Moisés

BSD out dogs Moises

Oezdemir vs. Guskov
Volkan Oezdemir, TKO, R1
Guskov gets taught a lesson by a skilled vet "in no time"

Gomis vs. Ghemmouri
Yanis Ghemmouri, DEC
Gomis such a boring style, will catch up eventually so give me the dog.

Charriere vs. Zecchini
Morgan Charriere, DEC
Expecting a decision win for Charriere, but I think Zecchini is a junk yard dog and this fight will be closer than a lot of people think

Lapilus vs. Loughran
Taylor Lapilus, DEC
More experienced vet outclasses undefeated CW prospect. Love the energy from the face-offs.

Loosa vs. McKee
Ange Loosa, DEC
Bad style match up for the returning Mckee, I believe that Loosa uses his wrestling to a decison win.
