Fremd is no world beater but he's a UFC caliber fighter. Jamie Pickett is the one whos on the borderline. He'd be cut already if he didn't have a legit gripe over how his last fight went.

McGhee has educated TDD (almost immediately starts defending) & his get ups/scrambles are urgent. He's got legit heavy hands while JP has been knocked down 8 times in the past 3 UFC fights.
Additionally JP's moving up to Bantamweight from Flyweight (he's fought BW against Jackson but it's not his optimal weightclass) & it's always tougher to TD a bigger opponent.
You said you don't trust him against grapplers but Luciano Ramos is a grappler and McGhee puts on a showcase of TDD there, showing improvements he made after Do Nascimento.
Bonus - Maybe it's just me but I thought McGhee looked huuuuuuge compared to Newson
