I am not surprised that a man of culture such as yourself, who appreciates the finer things in life such as Lord of the Rings and *****s is able to appreciate Makhachevs true worth. I am not trying to belittle Volk, I think he is a once in a generation fighter and a GOAT of his division. Unfortunately he is going up against a brick wall that is going to come down on him hard.

Also I guarantee that half the guys that are sure that Volk is able to beat Makhachev are also the same people who were saying that Volk lost to Holloway before. I guarantee it. It's just that they are unable to truly understand what they are seeing. I picked Volk to win every time and said he would be undefeated as champ in the FW division.

I called Makhachev beating Oliviera easily when Oliviera was at his peak. I said it wouldn't even be close. And I was laughed at. Well no one is laughing now.

The only thing Volk has the advantage of against Islam is speed. He might have a better fight IQ, but Islam also has a high one too, so that is like saying someone has a height advantage when they are 3 inches taller than the other person

Speed, footwork, striking.. he either gets finished fast or not finished at all, its pretty much whoever imposes his style first and maintains a hard pace for 5 rounds, leaning Islam isn't wrong but saying Volk has absolutely no chance whatsoever is ridiculous

Well, I think saying he has a speed advantage implements that he has better footwork cause landing precise and quick is a result of having good footwork. Charlie Olives has **** striking defense, but Islam does have good kicks, and his technique is really clean. Islam's striking will be about timing and managing the distance to be able to threaten with the takedown while Volk's will be all about slipping, circling the cage, and speed. Islam's striking success will be dependent on if he can time Volk's combinations and movement which if he is as good as everyone says he is, he will be able to since Volk will be so worried about the takedown

When I say footwork I mean more like angles and distance closing, speed definitely plays a factor but wouldn't consider it the main factor of good footwork. I agree on the rest, Islam has a nice head kick and is probably drilling the **** out of knees, so Volk really need to be careful on entry and circling.

There is definitely going to be moments in the fight that they are just going to be staring at each other to get reads. The reason why Volk normally is such high volume is because most dudes rush him, and he takes advantage of it. Islam is going to stand there trying to read his movements and attempted strikes, so he can time things perfectly and shoot at a good timing
