A betting thread is a good idea. But can we please have admission criteria to the thread being an IQ of above 50 and the ability to complete a full sentence?

That would immediately rule out PrisonMike and Tartara (thank God) but unfortunately would also rule out Duck and JR who enjoy betting, but some sacrifices are required for the greater good

Rather shocked by the recent revelations about MMA LOTN. I had no idea any of this was happening. Betting scandals are becoming a real issue in MMA. I have to say from my interactions with Manpreet I liked the dude and I can see that all of this may be due to a gambling addiction. I think he needs help and I hope he gets it.

Honestly I don't understand why people pay for other peoples picks, or how people can charge for their picks or bets. I guarantee that no one gets their moneys worth. I have always also puzzled about how people bet on line value rather than who they think will win and how they actually can ever make a profit on single bets where you likely lose as many as you win. Not a great strategy to make money in my opinion.

I don't like to blow my own trumpet but quite honestly I think I have a better pick rate consistently than most of the YouTube or Twitter MMA betting touts, and I pick pretty much exclusively UFC (with a little Bellator/PFL/DWCS thrown in) and I pick every fight on every card. My pick rate used to be above 75% doing this though it has dropped recently which I attribute to not being aware enough of the changes to scoring and judging criteria. Also pretty much all the shock injuries/robberies etc I was on the wrong side of which definitely affected my pick rate. Recently though since becoming more familiar with how things are now scored and judged my picks have improved again pretty much back to what they were.

Basically, I am pretty sure I make as good picks as any of these guys, and I would never ever charge money for my picks. It's fun for me and I make enough money from betting to keep me interested in doing it. I don't need the money because I have a pretty well paid job, but this is my hobby. And I would not make other people pay for my fun.

I hope the MMA betting industry cleans itself up along with the corruption that is present in judging and scoring.
