Been seeing a lot of movement towards Ryan during fight week, and a lot of the reasoning is valid. Moldavsky isn't the most imposing fighter, had a very competitive match with Vassell whom Ryan mauled and might have worse boxing than Ryan.

I still think the wheels are falling off of Bader at a rapid enough rate that Valentin should take over at some point. And really, this is the first non-decrepit HW with decent wrestling that Ryan has fought. First wrestling exchanges will tell the tale of the fight, and I feel Valentin will acquit himself better than he did against Linton there.

Good points bro. I think one of the problems Bader has had is that he went down to fight in a weight class that did his chin no favours with the weight cut and also was fighting faster fighters. At HW he may be a different prospect.

While Valentin is good, no doubt, he does not seem to have the HW KO power that would worry me. And if he does not KO Bader then is his Sambo good enough to counter Baders heavy wrestling? Agreed the Corey Anderson KO was a bad look but the Nemkov KO I think would put out anyone.

Also looking at Moldavskys recent wins they have not really been against fantastic competition or at least not fighters in their prime. And I am including Tim Johnson, Linton Vassell and Roy Nelson in that. I think Bader is better than them all at this point.

I see this going the distance or at least into the later rounds and I think Bader can take Moldavsky down and control him and even finish him with ground and pound.

Close fight for sure and I hate betting against a younger Russian fighter but I think I have Bader to win this.

One fight that puzzles me is the Saad Awaad and Chris Gonzales fight. I wasnt very impressed with what Ive seen of Gonzales from memory.

Do you have an opinion on this fight?

I think Awad is live and I am taking him, particularly due to Chris' showing against Yamauchi, but I wouldn't be surprised if he grinded Saad out for 15.

Awad's pretty powerful, it showed in his last one against Nate Andrews, but he's not the most technical guy nor does he make good decisions in the cage. Still Chris hasn't had to fight any good strikers in his short career, and he's also not the most dominant of fighters. I'm expecting him to control Saad for a fair bit before losing control and getting caught with something.

Idk who to go for on Caldwell vs barzola. Barzola wasn’t very good in the ufc and Caldwell is on a decline (imo) but I feel like Caldwell is more skilled and a better wrestler than barzola

Well, Henry is the more proven guy and is also from a better camp, though that Campbell loss is really bad. It's hard to gauge how good Aiden is since he's not beaten anyone notable in Bellator so far.

As far as Caldwell/Barzola goes, it just depends on how active Darrion is before gassing. I think there's a real chance he snatches a sub early when Enrique gives up his back, but Barzola isn't someone to just give up. Arguably beat Evloev too, but the wrestling didn't look too inspiring against Rani in the first round. Think him cutting to BW might be a mistake still.

Even with his 4in height and 5in reach advantage? Lee is very durable. Think he'll get a sub late Rd 2 or 3.

Yeah, it's just that Lee has lost to guys even shorter than Corrales before, but he does possess his threats. I think Henry's best path to victory would be to establish top control and chip away. Henry's got sub losses, but those usually come after his opponent rocks him bad so he should be safe if he doesn't get caught with something.

I think the odds are right for that one, it's not a matchup that I'd feel too confident in on either party.

I'm just happy there is more MMA to bet on every single week for the next few months.  Bellator and EFC found a nice spot for this week, then its the UFC again next week.  Also happy that PFL got a nice ESPN deal too.  MMA will always be a money making opportunity for me compared to any other sport.

Final bets

Predictions: 5 of 9 Winners, 1 Perfect, 290 Points   |   Tied for 880th

1. Bader
I think Bader will be better at HW and could out wrestle Moldavski who does not seem to have the KO power needed to stop him

2. Mamedov
Will likely just lie on top of Hendersson for 3 rounds but not do anything much. Could be a split.

3. Lee
Will likely take it down, control and possibly sub Henry.

4. Willis
Homasi is a real threat for the 1st round. But after that will likely gas and Willis (if he survives) should get the last 2 rounds.

5. Caldwell
I am taking Caldwell as the bigger, better striker and grappler and also because of Barzola's poor take down defence. But Caldwells poor cardio has me worried. He could lose 2 rounds to a juiced Barzola if he gasses

6. Gonzales
After a lot of thought I am taking Gonzalez. I just think Awad is too old now. Also Gonzalez is at Team Alpha Male which makes me think if this goes to decision the judges will give it to him.

7. Rosta
Finally decided to pick him because of what everyone is saying, though I am somewhat still cautious about his cardio and think Duane could still be a problem.

8. Mikhailov
Expecting a shut out.

9. Brennan
Should be his fight to lose

10. Almeida
Close fight I think.

11. Parrish
I have changed my pick and I now think Ben Parrish wins this. I think he has better striking and potentially better on the ground.

I do not think my performance on Bellator cards has been very good (because I am not that familiar with a lot of the fighters) so fingers crossed!

cauley is an elite wrestler, parrish only subs cans.
and on the feet parrish is just a brawler meanwhile cauley uses kicks and is more technical
