I don't think they're necessary a 'better' striker in the matchup, Both Katter and Chikadze are really good on the feet In diffrent way, But I say, I think stylistically  Chikadze leg kick will be a problem as Katter has a boxing stance will kept him prone to it, I think that the reason why i'm somewhat confident in Chikaze

Calvin Kattar   vs.   Giga Chikadze

I'm not as confident as everybody else in Giga here. To me, he's not really better Magomedsharipov, and I remember thinking during tha Zabit Kattar fight that Kattar would probably have finished him if there's been another two rounds. Is Giga the same fighter as Zabit? No. But they're not wildly dissimilar in the standup department. Zabit is fancier, Giga gas better fundamentals. But what they both have is pretty ****** cardio. Now a lot of you  bell-end-breathed ******s are no doubt Johnny-come-lately Giga reach-arounders, but I have been following him since the gladiator days and here's the rub: While he has improved his gas tank (I can remember a time when he was dead after R2) he still doesn't have the cardio to be as dangerous as he is early in later rounds. Just like Zabit. Kattar? Yeah, Kattar does. This is exacerbated by the fact he throws a lot of **** that doesn't stick, which is why his accuracy is 45%. That stat was cultivated against mostly bums, by the way.

It's kind of a sign of the times how badly Tapology has degenerated that 18% of people are on Kattar in this one, and that the vast majority are taking Giga by KO/TKO. Know how many times Kattar has been finished? Once. By Sub. Back in 2008. He's never been KO'ed despite facing Holloway, Ige, Stephens, Fishgold, Burgos, and Zabit--all of which are bigger finishing threats, incidentally. Tell me; why in the name of absolute **** do you believe he's getting finished here? What--because Giga finished Barboza who is 2-4 from his last six? Because he KO'ed a geraitric Cub Swanson? He's won three of his last six by decision, and of the three he's finished, two have come by head kick over declining fighters. If you think Kattar is getting finished by a high kick then you should have been kept down in special school.

Kattar is a very, very good fighter. He is better than anybody Giga has ever faced. He has massive KO power, excellent cardio, an excellent chin, and though he doesn't call upon it heavily, very solid wrestling--an on that note, Giga's wrestling licks Nizzuts, and if he's forced to grapple he gasses hard. Here's what you need to understand; if Kattar doesn't get finished by a headkick KO within 3 rounds, he is going to ******* Murder Giga. Murder. And don't think he can't end Giga's life within three himself, either. He just needs one. He really is that kind of puncher.

If Kattar is the dog, I will absolutely be betting him here. Kattar, KO/TKO R2. Edit: Just checked and he's currently +190, which is a steal.

I disagree with that. I've never seen Kattar defend a single body-shot. I won't go as far as writing him off but that susceptibility already puts Giga at a major advantage. Not to mention, when has Kattar dealt with an experienced striker before with a strategy besides wearing the damage and giving it back?

I could not have said it better myself bro. Interesting point about Kattars wrestling. I wonder if he goes to it now after the Holloway beat down. It would make sense if he still has brain cells remaining.

@Raidenx7 - I think this is exactly the spot.

I am laying the hammer on R2/3/4/5 KO by Kattar.

Good luck dude. Don't think Royval is worth that price, Bontorin's BJJ is pretty damn solid and he might be able to control Brandon there. He's a live dog imo.

I think a lot of the reason people think he’s getting ko’ed is because of why max holloway did to him. Which is crazy because he’s taken the proper time to heal and it’s not like Giga has this ridiculous ko power. Sure, he’s ko’ed his last three opponents but it’s not like he’s gonna be able to do that to kattar. High kicking Jamey simmons, ok sick, who tf is that? The Swanson ko was pretty impressive but it’s a liver kick, if you time that, you can keel anyone over. The barboza win was good too but it’s not like we haven’t seen barboza ko’ed before plus he did play into gigas kicking game. Let’s not act like that was a one sided affair either; it was 1-1 going into the third until Giga landed the perfect punch. Kattar hasn’t been ko’ed ever and we haven’t even seen a knockdown scored against him yet so idk why it would start now; Jeremy stephens had a better chance of putting his lights out than Giga does imo.

It’s different here tho because only max holloway will be able to keep a pace like that. Baldric made the perfect point of comparing Giga to zabit; their gas tanks suck. Giga has improved it but we’ve never seen him go past the third round, and should he hurt kattar if he can’t finish him (like the 27 people he’s fought before haven’t been able to), I think he will empty the gas tank. He’s gonna be looking for a highlight reel ko because he probably knows the ufc won’t give him a title shot with a win so he wants to make a statement. Kattar isn’t a cardio machine but he can go 5 rounds no problem, where we’ve seen Giga fade past the second round. Not to mention kattar is an incredible counter puncher and Giga leaves himself very susceptible to being hit when he throws those kicks. Kattar is also going to want to get in close with his boxing and won’t play gigas distance game.

Also let’s just say he does beat kattar, the second he fights someone with a wrestling background or any ground game whatsoever, he’s absolutely ******; the wrestling will sap his cardio plus he would just get subbed
