How do the Tapology fighter rankings work? Giga is #12 in the world while AJ McKee is #23, do they just reflect the user made lists? Even Ryan Hall is ranked higher than McKee which is laughable.

About Worldwide Rankings
Worldwide Rankings are for fighters in the UFC and other top orgs. Tapology users submit their lists which are combined into consensus rankings.

so yea its just an average of tap users lists. Most won't even include bellator so the numbers are skewed

Yeah HiDeff looks like I can do that parlay...

Yontef, Brogan Walker, Mana Martinez, Dustin Jacoby, Muradov in a Round Robin. Who says no?

Meerschaert vs. Muradov
Makhmud Muradov, TKO, R2
Muradov should comfortably win here, he's a way better striker than Gerald and he can keep this fight standing since his TDD is very solid too. Muradov can mix it up well, he attacks the legs and the body which then sets up the head shots. I'm confident he gets a finish here

I'd leave out mana, for only like a 1.28 return, he's debuting, coach just died which could make him fight great or poorly who knows, and everything else I said, not much of him on the ground and when he was he got finished by sub pretty easily. Guido isn't the best but most of his success comes from takedowns from what I saw.

Fun fact, if Alaska was its own country it would be the 17th biggest in the world, just beating Iran.

Guido isn't really a finisher though, and I think he's faded in both his wins. I do agree that playing Mana ML isn't worth it, unless you live in a ****** country which only gives you the option to pick ML's the day before the event like me.

Only guys I feel confident about are Barboza and Emmers tbh. The two times I saw Sabatini before his predictable win over Tristan involved him fishing and failing for leglocks against Jose Mariscal, and getting his arm broken via a Mir Lock.

Yeah, the rankings are User made. Compiles all of the lists submitted and works off of that. Heavy UFC bias to say the least

Like imagine not having guys like Bader and Davis within the top 15 but Jimmy ******* Crute is. ****, Devin Clark is even ranked above them! The only things that make tapology worth it are the ability to make predictions and their record/event info. Lists are goofy best case scenario, and not in the disney way.

No he isn't otherwise I would take a shot on him. He could get a sub but I think the most likely for him is to grind out a decision. Maybe mana ko power goes down if he can win a round from control time and tire him out a bit. Not banking on it, not even going to predict it, I just think it's too live to parlay mana, plus I've been burned enough by debut fighters to not play them anymore unless I feel strongly about it.

Speaking of, how's Hiestand like? I remember not being impressed by Turcios' outing against Boston Salmon, so I might switch to Brady if he's got competent boxing.

Brady is a good grappler. His striking is almost nonexistent.

Turcios is much better than when he fought Boston Salmon. He also moved to a new gym.

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 8 of 12 Winners, 3 Perfect, 490 Points   |   Tied for 959th

Barboza vs. Chikadze
Edson Barboza, TKO, R4
I’m really high on Chikadze, he’s a beast. With that being said, Barboza has fought the much tougher opponents so far, and Chikadze has slowed down in three round fights in the past. I’m leaning Barboza and I think he finishes Chikadze late.

Battle vs. Urbina
Bryan Battle, TKO, R2
As we saw on TUF, Urbina has horrible striking defense. I think Urbina is decent but Bryan Battle is the real deal. Battle will stuff the takedowns and pick Urbina apart with strikes.

Turcios vs. Hiestand
Ricky Turcios, DEC
Very hard fight to call here. I wouldn’t lay the -175 on Turcios because he has bad TDD and I wouldn’t be shocked to see Hiestand just keep taking him down. I think both are very good prospects but I’m leaning Turcios because he won’t settle for bottom position if taken down and if he does he is always active off his back with strikes. If this stays standing, Hiestand is in big trouble.

Lee vs. Rodriguez
Daniel Rodriguez, DEC
Hardest fight to call on the card besides the main event. Which Kevin Lee will show up? I think D-Rod picks him apart for 3 rounds and maybe gets a late finish. Lee is going to try for the takedowns and Rodriguez has extremely good TDD.

Petroski vs. Gillmore
Andre Petroski, SUB, R1
Dana is doing Gillmore a favor here for stepping in on short notice on TUF. Petroski is ok but I don’t think he’s UFC caliber. Petroski is -500 on most books now which is fair because Gillmore is absolutely terrible. Quick and easy sub for Andre.

Meerschaert vs. Muradov
Makhmud Muradov, TKO, R1
Gerald isn’t as bad as many people say he is but he’s going to sleep here. Muradov will win this fight and make it a 15 fight win streak.

Razak Alhassan vs. Di Chirico
Alessio Di Chirico, DEC
I feel bad for Alhassan because of what happened to him and it ruined his career. He’s getting cut after he loses against Di Chirico. He should’ve been cut after that performance against Malkoun.

Alvey vs. Turman
Sam Alvey, TKO, R1
Yes, I’m picking Sam Alvey in 2021. Turman has a little bit of potential but he’s not taking Alvey down, and he’s not knocking Alvey out. If Alvey can take Jung to a decision loss(you can argue he won), Turman isn’t going to be a problem for him. I truly believe Alvey is a bit better than his record.

Jacoby vs. Stewart
Dustin Jacoby, DEC
Jacoby will stuff the takedowns and keep this fight standing. He will throw tons of kicks and punches while Stewart will just look for that knockout punch or try to attempt a takedown. I think Stewart gets cut if he loses this fight.

Aldrich vs. Demopoulos
JJ Aldrich, DEC
Demopoulos is actually decent but she’s undersized for this division. I don’t think she will be strong enough to take Aldrich down and JJ will pick her apart if this fight does stay standing.

Sabatini vs. Emmers
Pat Sabatini, DEC
I’m taking Sabatini here to win a close split decision. I think he will be able to get the takedowns even though Emmers is a very good grappler and has good TDD. I give Emmers the slight advantage in the striking department but it’s gonna be very close.

Martinez vs. Cannetti
Mana Martinez, TKO, R1
I can’t even explain how hittable Cannetti is. He’s also a 41 year old bantamweight. He could possibly take Martinez down and control him but his cardio isn’t good enough to do that for 3 rounds and I don’t think he submits Martinez. I don’t even think Guido comes close to a takedown because he will be scared of the crazy power Martinez has. Just look at what Danaa Batgerel did to Cannetti.

Quick Rant

Predictions: 9 of 12 Winners, 2 Perfect, 530 Points   |   Tied for 575th

I'm pissed off how Sam Alvey still has a job in the UFC, It a joke the people they cut and then they kept Alvey, He's on a 6 fight lossing streak, He's not even a legend, He was a prelim fighter who not the most exiting fighter in the UFC, What dirt does he have on the UFC?. They just cut Jimmie Riviera, Demain Maia and calling it now they gonna cut Kelvin Gastulum because he's 1-5, Even thought he shouldn't as he only fought top guys And i'm still pissed  off that  John Lineker got cut as He was on a good win streak and got cut because he lost to Cory Sandhagen by split in a really fun fight, And John Lineker never had a boring fight

Also it not a good look to kept the  **** fighters and cut the good one because you pay them to much, Even when they underpaid and have secoud jobs, The UFC is where the best fighter, Cutting people off champion fights and one fight lossing streak is just plan ********, But UFC hate paying fighter what they worth. Dana White is a scum bag, He make 10 million per fight night, And 6.5 million per 100k PPV buys, And that just from ESPN, UFC has other deal and maybe on average, Each card the fighter get payed 1 million out of the 10 million. Dana White should be in jail for the pay of the UFC and that facts,

Predictions: 8 of 12 Winners, 3 Perfect, 505 Points   |   Tied for 813th

Lee vs. Rodriguez
Daniel Rodriguez, DEC
We could see a slight upset here. D-Rod has a high takedown defense and will own the striking battle.

Meerschaert vs. Muradov
Makhmud Muradov, TKO, R2
GM3 has struggled lately and Muradov has been excellent for quite some time now and looks dominant.

Petroski vs. Gillmore
Andre Petroski, TKO, R2
Pretty confident in Andre here, his aggression and takedowns will win the fight for him, just as long as he can stop the leg kicks from Gillmore, but I do think Andre's left hand can land all night, he can use it to counter of the kicks and also to hurt Gillmore. I see a ground and pound finish in the end

Fighters getting cut has more to do with what's going on backstage then in the Octagon alot of times. They cut top 5-10 fights often for this reason. Lineker was cut for pulling out of fights and missing weight. Probably was difficult to negotiate as well. Who knows what else was happening. Alvey is doing everything he can backstage to stay employed. Sayings he hates the idea of unionizing, fighting for any of amount of money and doing anything they ask him to. Even that strategy can't save him if he loses another fight or 2.
