I am surprised that no one has started this thread yet.

I know this is an MMA website but I bet that there are some Boxing Fans out there.

I just love the sport of fighting in general and I have been raised by boxing.

So in this Thread we can discuss the "Sweet Science"

such as
Past Fights
Upcoming Events
Favorite Fighters
and Historical Figures in the Sport

Because like MMA in the US, Boxing started out illegal. But where it took MMA less than 25 years to gain the General populations approval, It took boxing over 100 years.

Discuss and have fun.

This is why I hate boxing. Not the fights, but the corruption. Last time I put money on a fight was DeLahoya vs. Trinidad. I learned that lesson a very long time ago & tonight is the last time I’ll ever watch a live fight or spend a penny on anything boxing related. MMA isn’t perfect but I hope with all my heart that it never becomes this blatantly corrupt. Just disgusted. Golovkin fought like he knew this was a possibility and it still didn’t save him from robbery. Now in a rematch he’ll be even older & Canelo will be in his prime. This will forever ruin a perfect record with the BS boxing has become known for. Arum identified the wrong enemy to boxing!

118-110 Canelo what in the actual ****..Adalaide Byrd is clinically ********.

Had there been a 3rd competent judge, I think GGG would've gotten the Majority Decision.

GGG definitely won that fight.

All the scores were bad when I look at them now. All 3 judges gave Canelo rounds 10, 11, and 12. From round 8 on, I thought Alvarez looked like he was really losing steam and didn't have it together anymore. Of the last 5 rounds of the fight, Alvarez only won round 12.  The back half of the fight is where GGG should've racked up points. Going into the 12th, I was certain Alvarez needed a KO to win. One knockdown to possibly get to a draw (if you gave Alvarez the toss up rounds) or three knockdowns to be certain of a draw (giving GGG the tossup rounds). The 118-110 is egregious, but I think it overlooks just how bad the other two judges were as well.

Ward is such an incredible boxer. It's too bad his promoter kept him from boxing very much during his prime. He had a gift for the techniques of boxing. I always thought it was sort of amazing to watch a man fight any type of fight against the best and still manage to come out on top. Gonna miss that guy.

So pumped for Lomachencko vs Rigondeaux tonight. Two of the most skilled boxers up against each other. If you don't know much about these guys, do yourself a favor and look into it.

Well that was a lame finish to the fight. Can't believe he quit. What's next for Lomachenko?

Well folks, something big happened today. Myself being both a boxing and history fan, I am happy to say something that has been long over due happened. After decades of failed pushes through congress, and failed attempts from past Presidencies.

Jack Johnson, the first black heavyweight boxing champion of the world. A man who created trends in a time that the country wasn't ready for him.

72 years after his death.
100+ years after his conviction and prison sentence.

For the crime of violating the Mann Act aka for the literal crime of "transporting women across state lines for immoral purposes".

The Immoral purpose, of the woman being white and him black.

Today, President Trump officially signed a full pardon officially clearing Jack Johnson of his past convictions. It's been a long time coming.

Personally I think these pardons are ridiculous, at least when the person being pardoned has been dead for so long.  Jack Johnson was a great fighter, one of the best ever, but he was also a brave man who refused to accept limitations imposed on him by a racist society.  He was Muhammad Ali before there was Muhammad Ali, he was quite a guy.

Just a PR play from Trump. This will have no meaningful impact on the plight of black people whatsoever. It's merely a cheesy attempt to engender himself to a contingency of people who have no reason to be thankful to this ginger micropenis for anything. America has ample stupids to make the whole shebang a moderately successful affair.

Another way of appearing to do something whilst  actually doing absolutely nothing at all.
