This time last year, Curtis was coming off that controversial loss to Gastelum. He now has a massive opportunity in front of him to jump 6-8 spots in the rankings against a guy he's finished already. Gastelum isn't even in the division anymore and the only other person to beat him, Hermansson, could end up behind him in the rankings if he can finish Allen again. Just goes to show you how much can change in a year and that you can't hang your head on a loss.

Not only that, but if you're in shape and always ready to fight, there are massive opportunities ready if the UFC gives you a call. The harsh reality of this sport is you're almost certainly going to slow crawl your way up these rankings if you're only willing to fight 1-2 times per year.

Fluke? What the **** are you on about? Action Man has only been KO'd once and subbed once in his career, he trains with Strickland who took Allen's soul, so there's inside information there.

Curtis weakness is footwork, Allen don’t have the footwork of Imamov or Hermanson.

When Curtis has his fight he ain’t bad, it when you have any amount of footwork and he become salty is when he’s bad

Yeah I even picked Curtis the first time and he was winning round 1 before the stoppage; Allen just didn’t show up and got beat by the better fighter that night. That being said, I do think Allen will be able to get this loss back

Does anyone have difficult remembering the fights of a certain fighter no matter how hard you try? Cuz to me that certain fighter is Brendan Allen.

I am sure that I watched the last 2 events that Allen fought in but for some reason every time I try to think what happened in the fight It's all a blank.

And is not even that I don't like him as a fighter either, he clearly is very good to have the record that he has in the UFC. Curious to know if I am the only one.

@VicStrk
feel like some of that comes down to his style isn’t all that unique or memorable, other than him eventually getting a RNC finish if he can overwhelm his opponents. Very useful! But not as remarkable compared to the others in his division.

I could see him making Top 5 (unless he gets flattened by Curtis again.) given how useful his style is, but I have some doubts he would win the title.

Allen's gotten way better

Hernandez vs. Jackson
Alexander Hernandez, TKO, R1
If Jackson somehow survives I could see Hernandez winning on the cards due to damage.

Alateng vs. Hugo
Victor Hugo, DEC
Hugo has a huge reach on him.

Peek vs. Campbell
Trevor Peek, TKO, R1
Someone getting laid out for sure.

Brzeski vs. Walker

Walker knocking him out likely

Bahamondes vs. Giagos

Very surprised to see that tapology is favoring Chepe, I think Morgan is gonna dominate the fight pretty handily tbh.

Allen vs. Curtis II
Brendan Allen, SUB, R4
Don't have the time to analyze these fights anymore. Allen should win this one; he was also doing decently well in the first meeting, as a far less refined striker than he is now. He's made strides all over, but specifically in terms of fight IQ and killer instincts. I see him showing a difference in levels early in the fight by managing his distance well - far better than last time out - and intelligently opening up on body work to pass into the clinch. When Curtis is tired from carrying the weight around, he'll crumble to the pressure and either get TKO'd or tap out.

Dumont vs. de Randamie
Norma Dumont, DEC
Logically, Dumont is the right choice. Ignoring the obvious detriment of coming back three and a half years after nearly dropping a decision to Windmill Pena, Dumont happens to be a lot more spatially aware and cerebral in the cage than Pena. Technical quality matters, but not so much as who's able to control where the fight goes. Dumont will pressure, outwork GDR in a close point-fight.
