I think the majority picking Ferreira is justified. Hard to pick Hawes, who is 1 punch away from being shadow realmed against a power puncher like Ferreira.

Hello again andrew

Also it’s not really, hawes is significantly more skilled than Bruno, who got sent to the shadow realm himself last fight. That guy who beat Bruno had an extremely padded record, bad loss. Hawes can definitely lose but I just don’t get the confidence in his opponent when the only way he wins this fight is with a lucky shot; 83% picking him isn’t an indicator of how this fight will go

Even if Hawes were indeed significantly more skilled than Brunno, which I wouldn't be so sure about due to the fact that Phil has been getting hurt pretty much in every one of his fights save for the Malkoun and Winn fighta, Ferreira still found a kill shot against Robocop and will pressure the **** out of Hawes early.

Can't forget that Phil's been finished in all of his losses, and they all involved him getting rocked. It's less about Brunno finding a lucky shot and more so about Phil's defense and durability failing once again.

Hawes is more skilled than Brunno he was beating up Chris Curtis and was getting the best of Ikram and i think he was beating Roman too but i don't remember much of that fight until they got to his chin. This fight is such a coin flip skill for skill Hawes is much better and i can see him being able to finish Brunno but is more likely it goes like this other fights i mentioned.

That is a good point but look who’s sleeping hawes; fighters much better & much bigger than Ferreira. Hes built like a spark plug. Also worth noting his defense is trash, he often takes punches to give one & paid for it in his last fight. Hawes hits hard af, just because he gets ko’ed people forget that. I really see this as 70/30 hawes; Bruno is not on the same skill level as him, he just has power. His striking technique isn’t good, hawes is significantly the better striker

Hawes also switched camps from kill cliff to k dojo (where all the Russians in New Jersey go) so he may use his grappling, where he also has a big advantage

If Phil Hawes does the Garbrant then he getting slept, but I kinda doubt he does, Phil Hawes know he’s chin isn’t great, surly he does a game plan to avoid getting hit, expecting a grappling heavy game plan. He really need to look at Overeem and  Darush footage because they have the same problem, but got away with it by good gameplans

I don’t think Hawes chin is that bad, if he limits the chance I think he does fine, he’s chin isn’t Jason Witt or Shannon Ross bad where I think even the best gameplan ever can save them

Predictions: 6 of 11 Winners, 2 Perfect, 390 Points   |   Tied for 4043rd

Ankalaev vs. Walker II
Magomed Ankalaev, TKO, R4
The smaller cage favors Ankalaev even more. I think Ankalaev will stick to Walker and I can't pick against his record.

Simón vs. Bautista
Ricky Simón, DEC
Simon has faced the tougher competition and I don't think Bautista is going to outwrestle him.

Arlovski vs. Cortes-Acosta
Waldo Cortes-Acosta, TKO, R1
Salsa Boy, Republica Dominica

Semelsberger vs. Parsons
Matthew Semelsberger, DEC
I see Semelsberger's power stealing him this fight on short notice. Parsons has probably been anticipating a wrestling match.

McGhee vs. Bolaños
Marcus McGhee, DEC
I'm high on the McGhee hype train but I am surprised that he is such a large favorite. I think this fight could be a banger.

Bunes vs. Van
Joshua Van, DEC
Van has gained quite a lot of experience from only two fights and I think the kid has a high ceiling + he trains in Texas.

Predictions: 7 of 11 Winners, 1 Perfect, 420 Points   |   Tied for 3677th

Ankalaev vs. Walker II
Magomed Ankalaev, SUB, R4
Ankalaev is not -450 better but he's undoubtedly better than Johnny imo. Would love to be proven wrong but I think Ank takes this and then beats Poatan for the title via snoozefest

Nicolau vs. Kape II
Manel Kape, TKO, R2
I'm nervous about this one tbh but I like Kape a lot better so I'm gonna pick him.

Miller vs. Benítez
Jim Miller, SUB, R2
Please Miller don't take damage we need you on 300. Also think he's just the better fighter here, dude knocked out a hungry debutant in under 30 seconds last fight.

Vieira vs. Chiasson
Ketlen Vieira, DEC
29-28 UD

Simón vs. Bautista
Ricky Simón, DEC
29-28 split

Hawes vs. Ferreira
Phil Hawes, TKO, R1
I don't think either guy has anything resembling a chin so whoever lands first wins. Hoping it's Phil, he always looks good for a while.

Arlovski vs. Cortes-Acosta
Waldo Cortes-Acosta, TKO, R1
I just don't think Arlovski has the chin at this point man, his skills are better on paper but he's just too old

Semelsberger vs. Parsons
Matthew Semelsberger, DEC
30-27

McGhee vs. Bolaños
Marcus McGhee, SUB, R2
Drops him into a nice clean sub

Basharat vs. Lapilus
Farid Basharat, DEC
29-28. Would not be shocked if Lapilus pulls it off.

Wilson vs. Silva
Jean Silva, TKO, R2
Get Wilson out of the UFC pls.

Bunes vs. Van
Joshua Van, DEC
30-27

Nolan vs. Motta
Tom Nolan, TKO, R1
Nolan hype is real imo, we could be looking at the Aussie version of the Tarantula and I'm here for it

Vieira vs. Chiasson
Ketlen Vieira, DEC
Viera is active and more experienced.

Nolan vs. Motta
Tom Nolan, TKO, R3
I almost never pick the guy with half as many fights but Motta is wild and has taken significant damage over the last 6 months.

Hawes is one of the more skilled fighters at 185, but his chin is one of the worst in the division which has held him back. Bruno is by no means a bad fighter, but Hawes is definitely more skilled. The problem is Bruno has power in his hands and it's only going to take one mistake from Hawes and it's lights out. Hawes best path to victory is to wrestle, but I just don't see him holding Bruno down for 3 rounds, especially considering Bruno's judo background
