Picked Shamil and got him for plus money. Big fan lol.

For real though, I liked Shamil's resume in comparison to Buday's. The tape was fun to watch as well.

Predictions: 8 of 11 Winners, 4 Perfect, 605 Points   |   Tied for 635th

Ankalaev vs. Walker II
Magomed Ankalaev, TKO, R2
Ankalaev was winning the striking exchanges on the feet in the first fight and had him hurt bad twice in the first few minutes. He should get the finish pretty early this time around.

Nicolau vs. Kape II
Manel Kape, DEC
Nicolau is a live dog based off of the first fight being so close, but I definitely favor Kape. Most would agree that Kape won the first fight regardless of what the record says. Now he comes riding in hot on a 4 fight win streak while Nicolau is coming off of a KO loss to Royval. Momentum and history are on Kape's side. I think he takes a unanimous decision this time, but wouldn't be surprised if he gets the finish either.

Miller vs. Benítez
Jim Miller, DEC
Miller opening as the underdog in this matchup is wild to me. I get he's 40, but Benitez isn't exactly young either. That's proven by the fact that he can no longer make 145 and had to move up to 155 in his last fight. He scored a KO in that fight, but he was fighting a can. Miller should be able to outgrapple the smaller Benitez and take the decision.

Simón vs. Bautista
Ricky Simón, DEC
Bautista is on an impressive win streak, but he hasn't fought anyone great. You could also argue he lost his last fight against Blackshear, and Simon is a big step up in competition from that. Simon should be able to wrestle, clinch against the cage, and be competitive enough in the striking exchanges to take the decision.

if D Rod can finish Parsons so can Semi the Jedi. He hits like a truck and Parsons gets hit and hurt in every fight

Matthew Semelsberger, DEC
Wouldn't be surprised to see Parsons get a SUB win here in all honesty, but I just feel like Semelsberger is the overall better fighter skill-for-skill.

Jean Silva, TKO, R1

Is it Motta or Nolan who's supposed to give that display? Because I've seen nothing like it from either guy.

Its a pretty common theme that when Nolan is at range he tries to make his opponents circle towards his left side and some of his favorite kicks to throw are the front kick/teep to the liver and the left kick to the body. He did it against Bogdan Grad too and he's come close to a left high kick landing clean a few times regionally. IMO generally when Nolan fights and he's not brawling, to me it's apparent his entire range game is based around getting his left side attacks going while his lead hand is gauging the distance and feinting. Obviously I'm only talking about Nolan's game when he's at range as theres also the brawling in the pocket aspect to him but yeah

Its pretty easy to get who Baremaras was mentioning, cause Motta just throws left hooks in his fights, Nolan is the one with a good arsenal on the striking. I fully recommend you to watch tape before predicting fights my man

Yeah he really likes to throw on the left side in the open stance from his southpaw. He spams those kicks to a fault. It's just your description sounded so slick and Nolan is kinda awkward and green. He doesn't jab nearly enough and I don't think he has a gameplan really, he seems more like a guy that fights on instinct atm. He will spam kicks in the open stance then rush into the pocket, then back out, then grapple a bit. He just goes with the flow and spur of the moment in my opinion but it's not the same as a fighter mixing things up with a plan like setting up a headkick, at least it doesn't look that way to me. I can see his game evolving to a scene like the one you described though. But I'm not sure we're there at the moment.

Only reason Motta is still in the UFC is because the referee in his last fight was a melon and robbed Trey Ogden of a dominant win, Motta lost badly in 3 of his 4 fights

P.s Hope they gave Ogden his win bonus

you haven't made a pick on tapology in 8 months and cherry pick fights instead of predicting the full events. Simmer down over there giving advice and talking down to someone who's consistently making picks with moderate success every week

well nolan did throw a kinda half assed jab against bogdan followed by what looked like a straight left feint which is an improvement to what he showed regionally.. me expecting him to throw the double jab which is a cheat code in mma might be a bit of a reach but, in theory, its the logical next step in the evolution of his boxing game - assuming he has improved from last time

Predictions: 8 of 11 Winners, 4 Perfect, 605 Points   |   Tied for 635th

Ankalaev vs. Walker II
Magomed Ankalaev, TKO, R3
This fight will see Walker doing well early on, targeting the lead leg. Ankalaev will eventually catch up to the damage with an increased sense of urgency, and push the pace till he breaks Walker.

Nicolau vs. Kape II
Matheus Nicolau, DEC
First meeting was close, though Kape debatably should've taken that one. Still, I think Nicolau wins this one, and much more convincingly. The takedown will be there early, and if Nicolau sticks to what works, he'll get this one far more decisively. Having fought up to the level of Brandon Royval surely has to have done improved Nicolau's skillset in some way — you don't prepare for somebody as unorthodox as Royval without a few fundamental changes in your gameplan. That added versatility should be the determining factor here.

Miller vs. Benítez
Jim Miller, SUB, R2
A little bit surprised by the odds on this one. Miller should destroy Benitez once his hands get flying.

Simón vs. Bautista
Ricky Simón, DEC
Very, very close fight. Simon is a top 10 though, and I haven't seen what I need to, to say the same for Bautista. And in this division, every two spots up the ranking is a huge leap in competition level.

Hawes vs. Ferreira
Brunno Ferreira, TKO, R1
Bruno is filthy explosive, and he generates power from weird ******* angles. Kryptonite matchup for Phil Hawes.
