@Kermit control is still the third most important aspect of scoring, Lapilus landing like 6 more shots and not much damage doesn't fully make up for spending 60% of the round on your back

Lapilus needs to get his back off the fence. He keeps circling around close to the fence and allows Loughran to get him in a clinch everytime this way.

The issue isn't that control is the 3rd criterion or whatever. It's that the rules says you should not look at it AT ALL. Unless higher criterion's are dead even and you need it as a tiebreaker. It's not a case of it all contributing but to varying degrees´which might have been a more reasonable rule system but not the one we've got.
