@Vandal Maybe Aspinall, but I wouldn't be too sure about Gane beating him tbh. It'd be a different story if Tai hadn't caught Cyril like that, but it happened.

What would be interesting is whether Sergei goes back to a more conservative approach in a matchup like that, he wasn't a stranger to going the distance in Fight Nights, and even went 5 rounds, so it's not like he's unable to do it.

Did we just watch Izzy's last fight at Middleweight?

Maybe a bold statement until the dust has settled some but if you drop 4 out of 5 rounds to Strickland, what legitimate chance does Izzy have against guys like DDP or Khamzat?

Do you take the immediate rematch with Strickland, or take 6-8 months off and see what happens at LHW? I have a feeling it will be the latter, but we'll see.

The immediate rematch makes no sense IMHO. Izzy is 1-2 in his last three and just lost with home field advantage. I'd say he needs a win before he gets another shot, probably against the winner of Khazmat/Costa. Strickland vs Du Plessis could be a hell of a fight and needs to be made.

I had some sleep, I got a little stoned and disassociated, took my dog for a walk, went to the grocery store, and it still hasn't quite sunk in 100% yet.

I mean not only did Strickland win, but he dominated. All with a jab and a 1-2. And he's the first to drop him in MMA.

Also, Eugene Bareman is dog****. Approaching Edmen and Kavanagh levels of dog**** fast. He has made Adesanya worse and the bulk of that City Kickboxing Gym doesn't have enough talent to do much of anything - nevermind the fact they're being trained by a coach like Bareman who has consistently gotten by doing the bare minimum for his fighters. Adesanya was getting schooled by a guy who essentially relied on the same 1-2 combo for 25 minutes and the only advice Bareman had for his fighter boiled down to "eh, throw the right hand more." Sick. What a phenomenal coach. He can't prep his guys for a fight successfully two months in advance and is virtually useless with on-the-fly observations. Cool. Coach of the Year IMO.

my personal theory is Izzy made Eugene do the presser as a way of putting the blame for the loss onto him. Sort of like him saying "hey you caused this, you go deal with the media"

The only reason Adesanya made Bareman take the Post-Loss Press Conference was because he was so demoralized and beat down that he couldn't face the media. I personally believe it was very cowardly of him to ask his coach to deal with the media. Bareman was also very uncomfortable with the situation, but he did his best to support his fighter with the request. This situation confirms what Strickland has been claiming all along: "Adesanya has no spine".

Furthermore, I do not believe Adesanya deserves an immediate rematch and this would be a huge mistake for the UFC. I highly recommend watching this clip from James Lynch:

Strickland is the people's champ and his next fight should be DDP or Canonnier 2.

I'm perfectly fine with an immediate rematch. it makes sense, that fact some of you just don't like it means nothing. That's one of the greatest MWs we have ever seen in the history of the sport. But, that being said, i would prefer a Khamzat/Costa winner vs Strickland and Izzy vs DDP for the next shot. Please no rematch of Sean vs Cannonier, don't need that borefest.

Pleased to see a lot of fans and media types pushing back against Dana's call for an instant rematch. Might have a negligible impact on what the UFC does, but I'm ready for another new face in a MW title fight.

@MikeLovesTacos XD It's fine to not like Bareman but it's a crock of **** to suggest that he's the one who's made Izzy worse considering that Israel is a product of his, dating back to the start of his KB career. Hell, he's had more UFC mainstays than either Edmond or Kavanagh.
