Russian invasion of Ukraine thread.

I'll post what's happening as it comes through for purposes of posterity. Doubt the veracity of what is posted here. Having lived through the Iraq war, I am sure that the vast majority of what gets reported will turn out to be either misinformation or outright ********. Posting because a lot of non-Australia members will be asleep, now. I'll report as much as I can.

So far the g****vine is:

Russia has indeed embarked on a full scale invasion of Ukraine. Air attacks, and ground forces. There has been at least one missile strike, there have been front-line Ukranian casualities ( have seen video, cannot post it here, too graphic).

Belarus has thrown in with Russia/is issuing support.
Reports of Ukrainian air defence having shot down multiple Russian planes, either drones or fighters.

Regardless of what you think of Ukrainian politics, don't you at least think that they're the lesser of two evils here? Ukraine may well have a ton a sketchy politics going on (as do most, if not all countries) but that's absolutely nothing compared to the Russian regime. 

Yeah that, I've heard enough first hand stuff to know that ****** things are happening. But I don't trust even a little bit about the global motives for said ****** things to be happening.

The European Union is now supplying Ukraine with fighter Jets. ****s gets spicy now. I want them to turn that 3 mile convoy into scrap metal. Guarantee US intelligence is all over it

@Chris I don't like this. Putin has said he'll go nuclear on any nation that supports Ukraine.

I would also take that article with a very big dose of salt.

I mean there is dozens of countries supporting Ukraine. And Russia is not nuking them. They are Sending insane amounts of weapons and money. That's just his talk to scare people in my opinion.

He knows it's the end of he does that.

That’s not really a shock tbh. The Belarus thing I mean.

Putin saying he’d too nuclear is though. I’m surprised the UN didn’t just declare a state of emergency in response to that.

So the US imports multiple times more Russian Caviar and Crab than it does Vodka, which is embargoed in some states now and being pushed for embargo for others. I bet those rich folks won't go without their finery and will continue get their crab and fish eggs though.

I seriously doubt Putin has the balls to go nuclear or at least in the sense he wants us to imagine. Wouldn't be suprised if he dropped smaller bombs or weapons that technically are nuclear but there's no way we're gonna see the big atom bomb type weapons come into play.
