I never really studied philosophy but it's important to ask those questions tbh. It reminds me of this question one of my old high school teachers put to us out of the blue in a middle of a RE (Religious Education) class:
"How can we understand anything about the universe around us if we don't even know our place in it?"

Our nations all lie in ruin
The virgins have been totally consumed
Impending senses of fear and doom

Infected raw puss filled womb

Rabble crippled, cramped, distraught with dread
Muzzle flashes, a rush of blood to the head
So lets all go down and wallow in our filth
Sacrifices made, the unworthy have been killed

Is There A God?
Derangement, psychosis, poisoning of the wells
Last train out of town, ringing of the bell
Hordes coming in numbers, ravaging these lands
The ignorant will always tell you, this is just God's plan
Running and limping for the hills
If your caught you may be grilled
Hung up high from a lampost tree
Set ablaze for all to see
The truth is that there is no God
If there is he/she is irrelevant to our cause
Reincarnation happens, it is written in bronze
Many lives lived, many more ahead over many horizons

I really like those ones! There's something about darker poems that makes them stick in your mind more. Give you more to think about I feel.
