Anyone watched Dean Barry? Is there a scenario where he goes in overconfident, throws a ridiculous amount of volume at Mike Jackson in the first round, gasses out and then losses? Never touching a 1-1 fighter who looked mediocre against CM Punk but would be too funny if that scenario happened.

@mmafan his gas tank seems fine. That being said I’ve never seen him leave the second round. That ALSO being said, mike jackson is a can. I think he gets hit cleanly once and just quits most likely

After getting into tape on kape/mudajeri, I think it’s gonna be a lot closer than I thought. Su may have a very padded record but his ability to read distance and range is very impressive. I still think kape will win because he’s the toughest person su has fought but su is very skilled

Maycee Barber fight style is so dumb, I don't mind a dog shot on Montana, Maycee style of throwing punchs from so far away, It has no hope of landing while slowing backing to the fence for 2 round, And then start trying in the 3rd and winning that round, Is not a good plan for winning fight,She lost to Grasso and  she should of lost to Maranda, But she gave a blowy to 2 of the judges before the fight, So she technically won but the streets know.

The annoying thing is that Montana is bad enough to lose to Maycee, I rather watch Maycee fight Blanchfield because I want her to get smash, And Blanchfield pressure and takedown game would punish Maycee problem, I'm so mad Maycee pulled out, I think Blanchfield was  a dog when they were suppose to fight

this is from barry's most recent interview

“I want to go out here and finish him and make a statement, really!” “It’s a weird one. I almost feel a bit eased that it’s Mike for my debut, but I also feel pressure. I’m battling two sides here.”

“He has nothing to lose, but can you imagine if I went out and got starched by Mike Jackson on my UFC debut?! I’ll move to China somewhere and change my name, grow my hair, and I’ll never speak to anyone again! I’ll delete all my accounts!” Barry proclaimed.

“1st round knockout, as always! Hopefully inside 2 minutes. That’s what I’m feeling. I have a weird feeling I’m going to head kick him.”

I wanna bet against Barber cause she’s a tool, but I don’t know enough about Montana to put my money on her.

Right! Kape vs Su is way closer than advertised. I think Kape is a special talent and his fight IQ will be the winning factor but Su is elite in his own right.

Last week I was wrong on almost everything but somehow got an 8/14 score on Tapology, back to the grind this week.

Barber v De La Rosa. Interesting fight. Barber is a bit younger and holds the edge I would say in power and aggression. I wont actually say that she has the striking advantage overall though as De La Rosa throws straighter punches and more often one twos whereas Barber often throws single shots and doesn't utilize the jab. Both fighters are very hittable and not great defensively. De La Rosa should have a grappling advantage but her own TDD isn't the best. On the ground Barber actually managed to reverse Modafferi multiple times although it might have been more of a strength mismatch than from technical skill. De La Rosa doesn't have the best control on the ground but she does like to take the back when presented with the opportunity and Barber does give it up in order to work herself back to her feet.

One thing that is always concerning with De La Rosa is how often she gets her nose busted in fights which causes her to breath through her mouth and gas out in the 2nd or 3rd round. This has also made her seemingly mentally quit on the stool in the past.
Barber has had an issue with starting slow before ramping up and having her best rounds in rd3 where she took the round against both Grasso and Maverick after losing the first 2 rounds (was rewarded the win nonetheless vs Maverick by judges).

Barber is the kind of fighter you love to bet because it's clear that she hates losing and will always give 110% in a fight. I'm not willing to bet her as a favorite though with how green she still is and the unevenness of her performance coming off what should be a 3 fight skid. If she could fight like she does in rd3 every round it would be different.
I think Barber should be the favorite here but only by a small margin and the money play is on De La Rosa at these lines. It's an uncomfortable bet to make though with a fighter that has mentally checked out at times vs a fighter with an indomitable will to win in Barber.

It's an interesting fight for livebetting as well since a decision is always likely in lower weight classes and WMMA and they match up unevenly in their trajcetories throughout a fight based on past fights where Barber starts slow and comes on stronger, De La Rosa fades over time.

That's a really nice observation in Montana's nose issues.

I think Maycee gets this one done by simply overpowering Montana. She's big, and very strong for the weight class. I think she can muscle down Rosa and control her for long enough to win. One thing I've noticed is that she's improved between consecutive fights, so I expect her to take quicker action  rather than her slower starts per usual, as you pointed out

Whatever the under is on that fight (probably 1.5 rounds) it is probably hammer time.  I don't see that fight getting to round two the way they fight.

Anybody else reminded of a young Charles Oliveira by Puelles? Fights tall, timid in a way, and he's great off his back. I think he can capitalize on an error by Clay on the ground.
