@Baldric Eggling

Predictions: 8 of 13 Winners, 4 Perfect, 555 Points   |   Tied for 1311th

Read one of your breakdowns and I have to say I am switching my pick.

Having watched tape I now think Sean Strickland wins this. I am betting on his cardio and constant forward pressure. I don't think Jack likes to get hit. Also I think Sean's grappling and wrestling is very under rated. I think he could at least be the equal of Jack with his wrestling and his BJJ is apparently quite good. Probably good enough to defend a submission and get back to his feet. I can see him doing this a few times, Jack getting tired and frustrated and losing a tough decision.

First time in a long time I am taking a favourite in a main event but I now feel pretty confident about this one.

Also watched tape on Dawodu and Trizano. I agree with you, Dawodu seems over rated. Flat footed, low volume and hittable. His power is not that great either. I think Trizano has very good boxing and leg kicks and really good head movement and defensive movement. I think his wrestling and grappling is obviously better than Dawodu as well. Also I really rate Trizano's fight IQ. I think its great.

So all the UFC main events since Font vs Aldo, the betting underdog has won their fight.  That is 5 events in a row.  6 events actually if you considered Vieira a dog to Tate even though it was a pick-em but Tapology had Tate favored on that one from what I remember.

Does this trend continue here or does Strickland finally break the trend as a favorite winner?

I'm leaning towards Strickland also.  I do feel that the streak finally ends.  Strickland has that aura about him right now, he will probably fight for the title.  I don't know if he will ever be champion though.

Strickland is so underrated. He can beat jack in grappling or striking. Jack is good don’t get me wrong but Strickland is a psychopath; he enjoys dishing out the pain. He’s only a brown belt but he has really good tdd where jack isn’t the most effective wrestler. Strickland is just going to out volume him on the feet and can hang if jack wants it to go to the ground

Also I tried to watch trizano tape and fell asleep from boredom. What’s the reasoning for backing him? I agree with the consensus that dawodu is overrated but I feel as if he’s better than trizano. He’s definitely the better striker and I think his bad tdd is overrated; he hasn’t been ****** on the ground by anyone except movsar

That what I was thinking. The ludovit win was good at the time but I think it was more ludovit getting exposed as a hype train than an actual quality win. Felt this way after that embarrassment of a performance against landhwer

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 8 of 12 Winners, 2 Perfect, 490 Points   |   Tied for 2171st

Witt vs. Rowe
Philip Rowe, DEC
The Fresh Prince got some size and height on him. Uses this to his advantage on the ground, for defending takedowns and the getup. Don't like some of his decisions in fights, he tends to allow himself to get stuck in a position. Rowe has some decent striking that can KO fighters with a weak chin. He brings some volume and forward pressure into the fight as well. Path to victory here for Witt is taking this fight to the round & grappling mixed up with some dirty boxing in the clinch. I like his defense but he tends to back up a bit too much in fights and can be low volume. If The Fresh Prince can keep this fight standing and stuff the takedowns while avoiding getting in the clinch with Witt he may be able to grind out a DEC W here.

Davis vs. Stoliarenko
Julija Stoliarenko, DEC
Not much to say about this fight. Backing the dog here to cause an upset and grind out a decision against Davis. She's younger, enjoying the better momentum and some nice high kicks and SUB attempts to end the fight. I see her grinding out a decision here.

Marques vs. Almeida
Jailton Almeida, SUB, R1
Good fighter in Danilo Marques. Has a god mix of punches and kicks. He also goes for the takedown and will look to control you on the or against the cage. Marques tends to gas out and struggles with securing takedowns as seen in his last fight with Kennedy which is a bit of a concern. I think he has fought the better competition compared to Almeida and that may give him a bit of an edge coming into this fight. Almeida has a good getup game and some powerful takedowns of his own. Almeida throws his punches and kicks with some furious power that can end the fight when they land. Since Marques will probably be looking to take this fight to the ground, I think he'll find himself in some trouble here and leave himself open to a SUB.

Gordon vs. Bondar
Denys Bondar, SUB, R2
X has some tricky movement which can serve him well in. Confuses his opponents with his movement for takedowns and can land with some power for the KO. Good work on the ground by Gordon, does tend to leave himself vulnerable to strikes by leaving his guard open when he attacks. Like his control of his opponents against the cage and his ability to implement instructions from the coaches. X can fight a 3 round fight if he has to, really impressed by his cardio. Looking forward to see him fight here. Bondar on the other hand is has an aggressive fighting style. Likes to control you on the ground and land massive shots. Bondar has some knees and kicks that can end the fight if they land. Bondar does a pretty good job at avoiding damage, dude has some great head movement and his guard stays up. I think Psycho has the edge over Malcolm Gordon here on the stand up and if this fight goes to the ground he might find a submission or end it via G&P.

I was thinking it over some more and Dawodu has never lost a striking match; outstruck everyone he’s fought (except movsar but he was getting punched on the ground most of the time; he won the striking exchanges on the feet)Trizanos striking isn’t that impressive to me so he’s going to have to implement his wrestling which, offensively, isn’t that great. Pair that with Dawodus good tdd (which by the way was 85% before facing movsar) and I think it’s a long night for trizano

@welsh I’d say he’s as close to a lock as you can get. I think this is his first full camp since his dwcs appearance and also the easiest opponent he’s gotten since condtender series. The main worry in all erosa fights is the chin, but Peterson is a really bad striker with little power. I’d say erosa has better bjj too; if he locks up that darce it’s over for Peterson

I agree about Dawodu-
No shame in getting out grappled by Movsar.
Also Dawodu’s pre MMA kickboxing career is so extensive, Trizano’s striking shouldn’t be anything new to him.

But if the fight does in fact remain a stand up affair & Dawodu losses…his value as a striker is going to plummet in my opinion

Wow I just base picking him on his mma but thats some nice titles, Trinny was never gonna beat him striking.
His best bet would be to spam tdds and subs hope for best or gnp for decision.
