Pickett sucks. He is not good against grapplers. Holmes is decent but he has a lot of potential. He’s a little green but this should be winnable for him.

Starting to look at this card, wanna start 2022 off cashing tickets. Have a safe and Happy New Year, 2 more weeks!

Giga
Always take the dude that has a kick named after him.

Chookagian
Other than getting dropped by Andrade she's looked good past couple fights. Maia took some damage in route to her decision win against Eye. Think Chookagian takes it by Dec.

Alhassan
Someone's likely getting finished here, a juicy prop play may be Alhassan KO/TKO

Barcelos:
Just an insane step up in competition for Henry. Maybe another FDNGD play.

Kelleher vs. Kakhramonov
Brian Kelleher, SUB, R1
I like Kakhramonov and his quick start, but I think the veteran Kelleher will be able to navigate through and sub him early.

Honestly I thought barboza was taking over that fight and was let down but his lack of durability. It’s been his problem for most of his career and is only getting worse now that he’s 36/37. His skill has never been an issue. Saying that I do want to see him fight yair before it’s to late

Buckley vs. Razak Alhassan
Abdul Razak Alhassan, TKO, R1
This should be an explosive first round. Seems like a lot of the times we are certain a fight will end in stoppage, because of the two combatants, it goes the distance. Alhassan has a lot of power and will look to end the fight in the first and i think Buckley will give him the opening.

Sherman vs. Collier
Chase Sherman, TKO, R1
Both guys have been grinding for years, don't want to see either guy lose. If it goes the distance, Sherman's gas tanks might cost him the fight if it goes the distance.

Pickett vs. Holmes
Jamie Pickett, DEC
Pickett breaks my heart, him and solecki out of Wilmington NC, are the closest I'll have to a Myrtle Beach local fighter until tresean Gore makes his debut. So I'm biased. When I watched his regional stuff he looked really good but then in contender series and his UFC fights he just can't put it together like before. I was really confident he would look like his old self in the staropoli fight, and I did cash on him, but still isn't looking that great. Ugly man isn't really all that impressive to me watching his old stuff, but he's found a way to get get a lot of finishes, and that's great, but I'm referring to all the other times of the fight, he looks very tentative and low volume. Also I'm a fan of fading dwcs debuts (although I am picking the other 3 on this card), so I'm going to ride with Pickett one more time but I'm not that confident in it. On the subject, Holmes is 82% picked yet only -135 favorite, one thing I wanna keep track of this year is how big descrpencies between the two play out. As far as a bet I like over 1.5 but I'm not sure to play it yet at -185, hoping money comes in on the other side.

Ugly man has potential but he makes a lot of mistakes. I have Holmes winning but Pickett has a much better chance than people are giving him unfortunately

Yeah I wouldn’t put any money on him but he should be able to beat Pickett. Picketts fight iq is really bad and he doesn’t know how to use his 80 inches of reach properly, but then again, Holmes isn’t fully comfortable in his striking either lol. Pickett sucks against grapplers tho so Holmes should win if the fight goes there

Same I’m just worried he grinds out a decision like he did staropoli. Although getting held against the cage for like 6 minutes by a small former WW does not bode well against a giant MW grappler in holmes

Ugly man kinda gives me vibes of Jamahal Hill, where I'll watch tape and not be impressed, and then he will upset my pick every time. It's like they get hyper focused on a finishing move they kinda look ****** until they find it. But like I said, super not confident but I'm hoping Pickett can put it together a bit more. And again biased because local.

im also really surprised the bulk of Tapology is on Buckley. alhassan looked like **** in his three fights prior to the di chirico loss but he doesn't have to worry about the takedowns here as Buckley is gonna strike with him. Buckley is more athletic but alhassan has the power advantage and, even though he doesn't use it, he has a judo background, making him the more complete fighter. something I noticed with Buckley is his striking really isn't that good, it just looks fancy because he throws full force with every punch. im not just saying it to **** on Buckley, just watch his fights, he throws combinations of hooks and punches just trying to take the opponents head off, not really caring about accuracy. this is reflected by his 31% striking accuracy. Alhassan is lower volume but is the far more accurate striker at 48% accuracy. Both guys are super hittable at 53% and 51% striking accuracy between the two but I think alhassan will find him due to buckley leaving himself open when he throws his flurries of strikes. I also think alhassan has the better chin of the two because Buckley has been koed in 3/4 of his losses while alhassan only one. Not to say that either have bad chins but Buckley has been koed by guys who hit wayyy less harder than alhassan does; pair that with his poor striking defense and brawler style and I think hes getting knocked out

And man, Pickett had such more capability in my eyes to really put in on the way smaller staripoli, I thought he would KO him early but he did his usual slow pace. Part of me wants to think he was more tentative because he just got KOed by wright, but that's wishful thinking if we're being honest. Even though I gotta go with my local guy, I can't put any money on him. I just like playing over 1.5 seeing how tenative they both are in their tape. And also showing the ability to not get finished for the most part.
