Agreed. The scoring system is ******. There is no way that anyone can give TJ that fight. Cory stuffed 17 of TJ's 19 takedown attempts, and when he did take him down he didn't do nearly as much damage as Cory did to TJ's face throughout the entire fight. TJ's leg kicks didn't do THAT much damage because Cory was still moving around just fine, plus he was still stuffing takedowns by the end of the fight, so clearly his legs were still fine.

Idk, people keep saying that it could've gone either way but I totally disagree. And there needs to be a way to factor in damage because as it stands it seems like the judges don't give a **** about that. This is a great time for fighters to just throw a bunch of ******** and somehow add significant strikes to their stats, which is also totally interpretative, which defeats the purpose of statistics. Major changes need to be made to preserve the integrity of this sport.

These newbies is screaming about damage... Scoring is not about DAMAGE !!!  Get it through your thick skulls....  I have seen several championship fights that I believed the other person should have won but judges gave it to the other person.

NEVER LEAVE IT IN THE HAND OF THE JUDGES  IS THE UNWRITTEN RULE unless you are going to be completely dominant.

Worst part about this is next week is a total wash of a card. Trying to win what I just lost back will just get me into trouble. Got to wait for Nunes and Gane.

But Cory didn't leave it in the hands of the judges you ******* moron. He was ******* up TJ's face the entire fight, and luckily TJ is a tough SOAB. And I know scoring isn't about damage, and that's why I said CHANGES NEED TO BE MADE!! Read what we actually said before calling us all newbies numbnuts.

@firefist scoring is supposed to be judged by damage first, according to the judges own rules. That’s why people are rightfully mad. I’m mad about it too, am I a newbie?

At fire we watch this every week with you. Don’t hit us with that nonsense quote of don’t leave it in the hands of the judges as if it’s always an option. If that’s the case your asking for people to go for finishes more as if they wouldn’t rather win that win in the first place. It’s like saying to a fighter just knock him out and him saying why didn’t I think of that. If anything sandhaegen lost because he was throwing more knockout shots rather than having a decision fighting style

The only way to fix the judging problem is to score the entire fight, not round-by-round.

Who says anything about KO ?  There are several ways to finish a fight ... I will name a few then I need your newbie candy a to understand that Sandhagen and his corner did not utilize what they had in their tool box.

One is TKO -- a common one but it can be done to a standing opponent as well as a grounded opponent.  Sandhagen did not throw a lot of punches in bunches. Bad coaching.

another is Drs Stoppage- Sandhagen says he knew he did something to his leg but it was not significant enough. Well... He should've targeted his leg with side kicks or Jon Jones Stomp knee kick. or he could have targeted that LARGE cut above his eye or his other eye to close it up. But his 1-shot straight jab  was all he was doing.

Another is Submission - he could'v made more attempts to go for leg submissions or even Takedowns himself but he allowed it to be done to him.  Thats also coaching and game planning.  He assumed TJ was going to be just a shell of himself because Sandhagen has fought other older champions like Frankie Edgar and was easy finishes.

@eaganoe - I know "damage" is supposed to be in consideration of the scoring but I can tell you what -- its just a subjective consideration and thats it.  I've seen damaged guys who were bloodied up win decisions and lose them -- so I dont put too much WEIGHT on that...

one guy has ton of scar tissue vs another who doesn't hardly have any... Is it fair if scar tissue opens up and fight is stopped too early ?

maybe one day -- some of youse will understand

and also I am not mad.  everyone is entitled to their opinion... its totally fine people disagree or agree with me.

you are acting noobish.  LOL !!!

and yes I lost money $$ significant amounts at times on mma and I have won a lot too over the years.
But I should've known to play the FIXED game conspiracy theory option this weekend.

Every year I believe there are about 3-4  fixed cards. - I've said it many times...  several disagree well at least If I played that way -- I would've won $$ . Hahaha !! Darn it missed an opportunity !!

I think having 5 judges would be better: that way it requires more of a consensus and more people to get it wrong. It wouldn’t be perfect but it would be better

@firefirst you said don’t leave it to the judges? That is mentioning a KO or submission. In reality your saying the best way to win is to go for a finish and my point is that the guy going for a finish is the one who lost. The guy going for a decision and stalling in positions is the guy that got the win. The more someone hunts for the finish the more they will get controlled in moments where they loaded up but didn’t get the finish or gave away position going for the submission. It’s a nonsense cop out quote that’s an excuse for when a system is wrong and nobody and be bothered to do anything about it
