This is rough. Mayo was one minute away from potentially winning a 29-28. That said, I had it 29-28 for Arteaga at the moment.

i told y'all

Artega comes to bang. Good fight. Sucks for Mayo but Artega prob woulda won the decision anyway.

ps its pretty easy to win over this crowd. They cheered when mayo.took her down. And then cheered when Veta ended up in mount lom.

I had Arteaga too in both pick and 29-28 at the time of the stoppage, but Mayo really impressed me.She only started 2 years ago,and bjj 3 years ago they said,so she has a lot of potential.

@Kuma I based my pick on her arguable win against Anastasia Yankova. I figured she'd edge out a close fight. Looks like we were right this time, but Mayo certainly does have potential, you're correct.

I think that headbutt really hurt Josh and contributed to the KO,it is what it is,but it's a little unfortunate imo.I'm not saying it's controversial,i'm just saying for me it kind of leaves me feeling a little unsettled about the finish. This event was pretty lame, and the prelims were awful.

Bellator is going crazy with feeding people.Liam McGeary fighting Chris Fields is just silly.Fields is soooo slow, lost a ton in the last few years etc.I like him,he has tons of heart, but it's a terrible mismatch.

It's a stain on the finish, but not a big one. It was already troubling that Thomson was hurt by a grazing shot in the 1st round. He looks really bad tonight, unusually diminished.

I think this version of Josh was going to get finished by Pitbull sooner or later or at least keep losing bad. That 2nd round wasn't too kind to him before the headbutt either.

I fully agree,it just kinda sucked he was hurt with a headbutt right before the finish.Been a fan of Josh since he started fighting,he was one of if not my favorite LW's in the early '00's and it's quite possibly his last fight,so just kinda sucks.

Here's my two cents. I was entertained by this card. Obviously I wanted to see the true main event, but I think fedor's teammate (can't remember his name) is a legit prospect. I'm not big on wmma and I only watch because it's on the cards I will watch anyway. With that precursor out of the way, that was a hell of a scrap for those two ladies.

Tonight Kos lost to a guy that he would have starched only a few years ago. Kos really hasn't been the same since GSP ****** his eye up. It's a good thing that he has other means of income and fighting is a passion project for him because I believe his high level fighting days are finished. If he chooses to continue fighting, it's his decision, but the game has passed him by. Searching for that one shot bomb won't cut it. Especially when he appears to have abandoned what got him here. Kos was a top level talent that could have been champ in any era other than the one he fought in (specifically the GSP reign). Hopefully for his health he calls it at this point.

Another major letdown was Josh Thompson. He lost to another high level fighter, but I think age has come recieve its due. He wasn't putting together combos like he used to. It was just not his night. Hats off to pitbull. He looked like a killer in there tonight. I'm not going to write off Thompson yet because unlike Kos, he fought a top level guy. These things can happen. Hopefully josh gets another fight and is able to regain some of his form that made him one of the best lws in mma history.

As for the hws that did fight, has any fighter changed more over the years than the darkness? He went from strictly a striker to a  gnper. Basically if the guy he fights is a weak grappler, he just takes him down and works him over. But if the guy has some solid grappling, Kongo is toast (see king mo). I don't know what bellator has planned for him, but I don't think he figures into the major plans for their Hw division. I just think he's a guy they can plug in every few months to say look here's a Hw scrap to watch.

Like I said, I was entertained, but I still think the top two fights for UFC Halifax trump anything bellator could have put on tonight.

@Kuma, agreed, it's crazy that only 3 years ago Josh was almost one of the Top LWs in the UFC when he arguably (imo) beat Bendo. I feel bad for the guy, he's been plagued by injuries and has always been one of the best LWs on the planet in any org and any controversy in any of his fights sucks. Hope it's not his last, personally, go out on a win in San Jose instead of a bad loss.

Arteaga is becoming one of my favorite female fighters. Two fights in a row (that i have seen)and all she does is strike with fists and elbows. She ****** up that other woman's eye something bad but i give mayo props that she wanted to continue even though the doctor stopped it. She kept saying i can see, don't stop the fight. warrior spirit. you go girls. best fight on that Bellator card.
