Barb Honchak's name sounds like she's one of your buddies mom. She's on the PTO at school, she always bakes a dessert for all the sports banquets. Her husband is like an accountant or an engineer. Yeah, that's the real Barb Honchak.

It's been a pretty uneventful fight other than the brief TD by Hashi.

Does Barb always spend the entirety of her fights backing opponents up into the cage and clinching? If so, remind me not to watch any of them again.

Not a performance by either of these 2 that make me interested in seeing them fight again.  There are some fighters that made an impression tonight like Moyle, Lee, Mizuki, and Karolina. Not either of these main eventers though.

May have already been said earlier in thread but Nicdali Rivera-Calanoc announced her retirement on Twitter. Believe this was rumored to be happening even before the card.

Just got home from the event a bit ago, overall a fun one even with the lack of finishes and the dud ending (didn't expect a great fight from Honchak anyways since she's usually pretty boring). Had great seats, 3 rows back from cage side for about $60.Those shots Lee hit Sinn with echo'd so loudly, I have no idea how that one made it to decision. Also the crowd pretty audibly disagreed with the Mizuki/Karolina decision.

Pretty tiny venue and only about 200 people in attendance, not sure what they pulled in KC but that's pretty abysmal for the level of promotion they are.

It looked like a pretty sparce crowd when watching on Fightpass. There were times it was weirdly silent. It makes it easy to hear the corner though.

Goes to show that the brand counts for a whole damn lot when it comes to filling out the venue. UFC is an established brand. Bellator has the potential to get there in 2015. Strikeforce was huge in the Bay area. All about knowing your market.

I went to Invicta FC 6 at the Ameristar Casino in KC and it was packed! The atmosphere was great. It's a real shame that UFC seem to have ruined another decent promotion. Don't get me wrong, I love the UFC, but I prefer going to smaller (more affordable) shows. I've been following Invicta since their first show and it appeared to be going from strength to strength (despite the PPV issues).

Awakening Female Fighters look like a good possible replacement. They are currently raising funds on kickstarter to host an all female show. Julie Kitchen has agreed to come out of retirement and fight Lindsay Haycraft. I would love to see that fight happen! I think it's a muay thai fight show, but they have MMA fighters too

What exactly is the relationship between the UFC and Invicta? There is no official partnership or anything right?

Some sick fights on the card. Was glad to see some new prospects rise up (Moyle and Lee at the top). Karolina is awesome so I am glad she won. That was a big test for her. Invicta is awesome and being on Fight Pass is better than their old model. They are the main reason I still have FP.

I'm not sure about anything official, or if this is the correct answer, but it seems like the UFC said "Since we're raiding you're strawweight division and turning you into a feeder organization for us, we'll let you have your events on fight pass since your streams always **** up and you have to give them away for free."

No official partnership that i'm aware of, but UFC have sucked up all the most popular female fighters. What was once a showcase of the best female talent around the world, is now just another breeding ground for potential UFC signees.

Not to disrespect any of the fighters on the card. It was a great show and all the fights were awesome. It is nice to see new prospects (+ a couple of big names) and I will continue to support Invicta, but as far as the overall production of the event and the hype leading up to it... well, it just doesn't compare it to the earlier shows.

Hopefully i'm wrong, but it looks to me like it's just a matter of time before UFC takes over and shuts it down completely.

If UFC hadn't done what it did, Invicta would not be here today. The organization would be dead in the water. There is a reason there was a huge gap between Invicta 7&8 and now only 2 months between 8&9 and 1 month between 9&10. UFC has offered one thing Invicta never had, a steady guaranteed revenue stream. Woman's MMA is just now becoming a viable money maker and some of the women who are just 1 or 2 fights into their career looked more talented then past perennial top 10s

I agree. I think things were a bit thinned out but they have some very talented girls to build around. Having to move forward after losing the 135ers and then the 115ers is tough. They will work through it I think.

I agree 100%. There are some very talented women hitting the scene. Many crossovers from KB, MT and boxing.
