From MMA in Asia

#12 – Kenji Osawa’s Retirement Exhibition Match
Versus Hidetaka Monma, a prowrestler, Ryo Chonan, Takeya Mizugaki. Good fun and good grappling, everyone beats up on Kenji.

#11
Yoshiro Maeda (30-14-5)
Motoya comes out like a madman! He punches like there’s no tomorrow! Finally Maeda wakes up and a back and forth battle begins! Maeda with the takedown and to mount! Motoya butterfly guard and eventually reverses! Motoya goes for a kimura and Maea rolls and rolls! More standing and trading, then Motoya nails the takedown, takes Maeda’s back and pounds on him. Motoya grabs a triangle and rains punches! Switches to an arm bar and gets a tap right at the bell! Think Maeda’s arm might be broken.

Yuki Motoya defeats Yoshiro Maeda by Submission, armbar, rd 1

#10
Haruo Ochi (10-4-1)
Ochi finds out that if he punches Imanari when he tries the flop and scoot, he can destroy him! It works for a full round as he nails him with many shots standing, and hard elbows, punches on the ground.
Round 2. Imanari opens with kicks! He lands a left hook too. Then, the flop works and he gets a leg! But Ochi scrambles out of it! Ref stops for a cut on Imanari’s face. Apparently it’s his eye and the fight is called.

Haruo Ochi defeats Masakazu Imanari by TKO, doctor stoppage, rd 2

#9
Yamamiya comes out swinging! KTaro shoots, Yamamiya defends. But once up, KTaro gets rocks him with punches and gets the takedown to mount. Yamamiya rolls and lets KTaro get his back where KTaro rains down the punches to the crowd’s delight. Ref stops it just as Yamamiya’s corner throws in the towel.

#8

Iwase with the throw and mount back take and Ohara reverses! Iwase grapples like a crazy man, controlling Ohara’s legs and arms, but he eventually works up. Iwase goes for a big throw, ends in a tanning back take. Iwase with the body lock and outside leg trip to mount. Ohara goes out the back! Iwase quickly assaults him again with a standing back take again. Ref separates them, and Ohara attacks! Front kick buckles Iwase and he follows up with a flying knee.
Round 2. Ohara opens with a kick and flying knee. Iwase goes in and Ohara grabs the guillotine. Iwase gets out, shoots Ohara across the ring, mounts. Ohara turns out of it to stand! Iwase shoots and they slide outside the ropes. Ref stands, Ohara rushes in and slips, Iwase takes his back. Ohara out again but his head is still with Iwase. They make it to standing and Ohara turns the tide at the end of the round with some striking and finally defending the shoot.

Shigetoshi Iwase defeats Juri Ohara by Unanimous decision

#7
Luiz Andrade I (16-16-3) (禅道会)
Luiz rocks out in gi pants. Oyama goes on the offensive early. Luiz covers, clinches, takes down. Luiz lays on top and ref stands them. Beautiful striking war ensues! Luis defends a hip throw attempt, brings Oyama down, and gets a tight guillotine from the top. He cranks it hard, but Oyama peels his head back and pops free. Luiz works to the back and tries to find a choke. Then he gets mount, and Oyama reverses!
Round 2. Oyama starts to load up on his combos! Luiz comes back with kicks and a teep. He clinches, gets undercooks, and throws Oyama down. He doesn’t do much with the position so again the ref stands them. Oyama starts throwing sweet combos again, and Luiz swings back to end the round.
Oyama’s striking is incredible. Luiz got the takedowns but was stood up for inactivity each time. One of the DEEP judges is scoring really weirdly today.

Luiz Andrade defeats Takuya Oyama by Split decision

#6
Yusaku Fujisawa (9-5-1)
Seita Katsuki (6-1)
Katsuki gets busy with striking as Fujisawa takes the center of the ring. Hard kick by Fujisawa. Katsuki closes and gets the body lock and throw. Fujisawa gets up but Katsuki crawls up his legs and plants him down. Katsuki lands some hard shots to the head, but from the bottom, Fujisawa goes to work by tying up Katsuki’s hands and looking for the triangle.
Round 2. They trade kicks. Katsuki shoots and gets Fujisawa down but he gets up and reverses for his own single. From inside half guard he smashes Katsuki down and feeds him punches. He tries to pass to side control but Katsuki almost kicks him off. Fujisawa trades tactics and tries for and arm triangle.

Had Yusaku Fujisawa for this one, but judges give it a split DRAW

#5
Hideki Kiyota (6-4-3)
Nakamura comes out swinging then gets the clinch. Ref breaks them, and they trade punches, Nakamura eating a hard one. Nakamura with a throw, but ends on the bottom, soon they’re back up. Kiyota’s turn to throw, he doesn’t keep it there, but lands some strikes while it’s down. Quick double by Kitota again, this time he keeps pressure then starts landing the elbows. Kiyota gets out of guard but dives back into a triangle. He postures backwards and out, ending the round on top again.
Round 2. Nakamura struggles for a takedown, Kiyota takes his back for it. And that’s where he spends the remainder of the fight, until he finally sinks the choke.

Hideki Kiyota defeats Tatsuyuki Nakamura by Submission, RNC, rd 2

#4
Hiroto Sakuma (2-2-1)
Takano mounts the offensive early to clinch and control in the corner. Then he tees off on Sakuma and lands bunches of hard one. Bad throw sees Sakuma get top position but Takano holds off the side control sub attempts to work to his feet, where he gets 2 more big takedowns.
Round 2. Takano tries for three takedowns in a row, Sakuma defends well, throws knees. Takano clinches again and Sakuma lands elbows. They stand and trade, Sakuma lands a huge right! Takon shoots and gets the takedown, Sakuma briefly gets a crucifix and Takano spins out! From inside guard he applies pressure and Sakuma throws short elbows from the bottom. Takuma almost gets an arm bar, ref stands them? Final 30 seconds they go to town. Good scrap, definitely two guys to keep an eye on.

Yuki Takano defeats Hiroto Sakuma by Majority decision

Ueta stands and so does Toda, but Ueta immediate single legs him back down. Repeat of the same scenario plays again. Toda briefly tries for a triangle.
Round 2. Ueta opens with a single. Ueta shoves Toda’s legs aside, and as he gets up, Ueta again takes the back. With a body lock, Ueta looks for subs, Toda defends by punching backwards over his head. This plays out the entire round.

Masamichi Ueta defeats Tomoharu ‘Haruto’ Toda by Unanimous decision

#2
(Brave)
Kato and Ryu have a lively first. Ryu tries for a looping overhand to set up a takedown as round 2 opens. Ryu keeps ahold of Kato as they stand and looks for another throw. He drags down Kato eventually but ends on the bottom. Kato punches while Ryu looks for a triangle. Much of the round sees Ryu grabbing onto Kato in any way possible, and Kato can’t break free. Im reading the results, but they are from the point of view of another person. Anything on here that watched the event and can tell me how some of the good prospects performed? Mainly Motoya, Ochi, Oyama, katsuki, and highly talked about rookie yuki takano. To bad nagakura wasn't able to get a fight, hes almost always looking that the ko. Anyways if any knowledgable JMMA fans have any insight on those guys and how they did, please let me know. Ive heard rumblings of either an all japan TUF or possibly a split with korea if they can manage to secure contracts from guys who are signed by buying them out and work out the languege barrier problem.
