I went back all the way to the 20th page and didn't see anyone who started a thread about movies. If there is one, just let this thread sink away into the abyss of thread history, but if not, this is something we can talk about. We've got one for every sport, music, and TV shows. So I figured might as well.

As were talking about Tom Hanks, has anyone else seen "Bridge of Spies"? I thought that was one of his best performances for years. "Road to Perdition" is also massively underrated as well.

Yep seen both great dramas, perdition had heck of a cast.
Need to watch bos again, bit niche but quality.

What are some movies you guys can watch anytime? For me,

Starship Troopers

I love this film, everything about it is great. It's a big blockbuster b-film with some good satire that always makes it an enjoyable film.

Do you guys believe the humans started the war, and that the bugs were simply defending themselves? I've always wondered about that.

Movies I can watch anytime (in no particular order, just as they pop into my head)

  • Cool Runnings
  • Jaws
  • Jaws 2 (unpopular opinion but I actually prefer jaws 2 to the original. I guess overall being more familiar with the characters helped)
  • Basically any of the James Bond movies including the new one No Time To Die which is very good but not quite at the elite level of bond films (From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Casino Royale, Skyfall and Spectre are what I consider the elite level Bond films btw)
  • The Simpsons Movie
  • Shutter Island (CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED!)
  • The Gentleman
  • In The Heat Of The Night
  • Crocodile Dundee 1 and 2
  • The Medicine Man
  • Assault On Precinct 13 (1976 version)
  • Unstoppable
  • Gone In Sixty Seconds

Some good picks there

Jaws is a classic, for a movie so old no ghost, whatever, movie scares me still till this day. I like Jaws 2 also, a little bit different but I mean it's still a classic that is also very terrifying.

One thing brilliant about Jaws, when the shark jumps the boat, **** man, no music, just utter terror. And then Jaws drags him into the water hauntingly after his screams and it's silent.

@flying_frontkick

Steven Spielberg may be known as a director of massive movies but it's those little details like that that got him that status in the first place.

Y'all love Jet Li ?

Just watched Romeo Must die, Jet was ****y, Cool, and slick in that movie probably the only time he potrayed such character. He was Gangster. The fights scenes with CGI could of been flushed though 😂

If you guys want some good action films I highly recommend the older works of Jackie Chan, especially the Police Story franchise, preferably in subtitles as old dubbing back than was brutal. Police Story 1 & 2 are by far his best works, the conditions backstage and the fact Jackie did all his own stunts makes these films especially amazing. Jackie famously nearly died filming the final stunt of the first film.

Armour of God 1 & 2, Who Am I!?, Crime Story, and Rumble in the Bronx are great action films. Drunken Master 1 & 2, Snake in the Eagle's Shadow, and Shaolin Wooden Men are more traditional Kung-Fu flicks that laid the groundwork for Jackie's blend of Hong Kong action and comedy.

Rumble in the Bronx was one of my favourite movies as kid, he almost died making his own stunts in that movie. The scene where they stick the guy head first into a wood chipper disturbed the **** out of me as a kid..

I'm watching Black Christmas right now, this is easily one of my favourite films that mixes horror and Christmas, it always gets me thinking. Please post your thoughts so I may read them about your theories on this movie.

I will report back.

Think he's almost died in all of his best works, the worst was when he fractured his skull in Armour of God. The splinters of bone pierced his brain and required immediate surgery. Jackie's insane to the point where Hollywood won't insure him anymore.

My favorite film is American Psycho, though I feel the book is better. I have fond memories as a kid peacefully dreaming away while the AP audiobook played in the background and it got to the chapter where Patrick Bateman cooked a bunch of prostitutes into a sausage and cried cause he never cooked sausage before. Good times.

Got recommended Society by a friend, ended up watching the YouTube posted one with asian subtitles and added it to my playlist of ****** up movies YouTube somehow allows you to watch even though they’ll flag you for sneezing in Chinese. Film is actually pretty funny once you get over the shock of seeing a man literally talk out of his ass

@sabbath

The "butthead" scene was hilarious..i watch Cannibal Holocaust on YouTube still to this day with Italian subtitles lol that movie is ******. Sad taht all the animals killed in that movie were in fact killed on film for the movie. The tortoise part is the worst.
