I went back all the way to the 20th page and didn't see anyone who started a thread about movies. If there is one, just let this thread sink away into the abyss of thread history, but if not, this is something we can talk about. We've got one for every sport, music, and TV shows. So I figured might as well.

I just remembered it was blood Orgy of the Leather Girls. I felt it was necessary to tell everyone this.

Xconchris,

Those were part of the exploitation movies of the 70s.  Almost all were low in budget and quality.

I was thinking about Texas Chainsaw Massacre the other day, the original and what might be the message of such what seems like a pointless horror movie. I really think it's now a picture about how we treat animals in slaughter houses, we wear their fur (leatherface) we eat their flesh and we hang their carcasses up on hooks.

They aren't always dead when hung up, and the scene where they find all the bones and trophies. We hang their heads on walls, etc. Yet, it's totally normal. I don't know. We hunt them, we skin them, (leatherface) etc.

They use humans because we can identify with that and how horrifying it is to kill a human.

Maybe I'm just drunk.

Jakey, that guy is William Smith.  He recently died.  He was a Renaissance Man.  He could box, had some weightlifting records and could speak 5 languages, amongst other things.. Since his knowledge of Russian, they had him as Strelnikov in Red Dawn(1984)

Watching Saving Private Ryan

This movie always conflicts me because of the guy who sits in the stairwell while the dude from Dazed and Confused gets slowly stabbed to death, then he seeks out the guy who did it after he passes him down the stairwell and kills him.

The guy who he finally shoots kills a soldier and I'm just watching the beginning but man what a hard issue to deal with.

@flying. I always thought that scene was a realistic as you get. The shoulder having a mental breakdown in the stairway unable to move and suffering PTSD.
